12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours black, with a very small tan head that quickly fades. Nose is cocoa and coffee, and the taste follows the nose. Very smooth, well balanced stout, with a creamy mouth feel and a nice short finish. Delicious.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. Pours black, white head is almost nonexistent. Spotty lacing. Aroma is, yes, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Flavor is much the same. The most notable thing about this beer is the aptly named velvet mouthfeel. Pretty much as well balanced as a beer can be... perhaps too well balanced?

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle served in a tumbler- poured a non transparent solid black when held to a light source, near zero carbonation, thin white ring around the glass for a head, light lacing upon the vessel. Aroma of a darkly toasted malt, and some light diner coffee. Hits the mouth with a high and wide body, malt was roasted not toasted as opposed to the aroma, a taste of oatmeal and brown sugar in the middle, finish is smoky with a hint of acidity. Down goes the beer- yum yum yum.
