A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

Although some say it tastes of caramel, I taste a coffee flavor. Maybe my palette is not as sophisticated. First taste was a little bitter and, in fact, the linger lasted longer than I had hoped. Overall not bad

Dark, almost black pour with a creamy latte head that left some sticky lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder and freshly ground espresso. Creamy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Flavor shows the oats along with coffee and chocolate. No remnants of barrel. Good solid stout.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a thick topping of tan foam. Nose is oats and coffee with distracting funky cereal. Smooth medium body with a lively tingle. Taste is coffee, ash, red licorice and peanut. Some odd notes but not bad.

On tap at the brewery in Paso Robles. Nice pitch black appearance. Nice roasty, malted , chocolate aroma. Taste is very pleasing with hints of chocolate, oatmeal and coffee. Finish is short and dry. Better than average stout .

Pours a dark brown with a tan head and aroma of roasted malts. Taste is sweet and of chocolate, roasted malts, and oatmeal. Bitter, smooth finish, this a flavorful and good stout.

Bottle from Armin. Thanks! Pour is a fairly dark brown, with a very light brown head that quickly fades to very little lacing. Aroma is light chocolate, lots of light malt, nothing overpowering. Taste is huge oatmeal up front, with some dry coco powder on the back. Fairly dry, if somewhat chalky, finish. Nice beer.

12oz bottle -

Whenever I see Firestone Walker, my tastebuds go into overdrive because I know that the beer is likely to be a winner. However, this seems to be the exception to that thought. Not a bad beer per se, but one that seems lackluster and rather pedestrian by their standards.

The aroma carries some really light coffee notes with little else in terms of complexity. Flavor has that coffee-like bitterness with a woody tannin finish. Mouthfeel is full and round with a velvety feel which was the highlight of the beer. Appearance was a bit disappointing as the head really didn’t deliver regarding to sustaining a long lasting head. After my 3rd bottle, it just didn’t hold up well. Overall, a decent brew but compared to the other winners in FW’s line-up a let-down.

Pours a dark ruby red with a tan head. The aroma had the sent of chard malt. The taste was of watered down malt. The body was to thin for a stout and it had a bitter aftertaste.Overall a bad stout.

Surprisingly damn good. For the cheap price of $7 a six pack, I was a bit skeptical at first. Initial aroma of toasty malta & chocolate. The color is dark like black coffee and molasses. This beer is very heavy, but sweet and delightful. A great winter beer, really dark and smooth!
