Bottle courtesy of cbkschubert, thanks man. I planned on holding onto this for a few months, but what the hell. Overall, not a bad beer and went down pretty smooth. Had a bitter bite to it, but very enjoyable, none the less.

Bottle. Pours a black body with a tan head. Roast y and bitter with an oatmeal nose and a light peat note. Coco and chocolate malt tones. Soft velvet texture, light and drying. A bit thin overall but still a nice session stout.

12/2/10. 12oz bottle thanks to dschiller! Nice black pour (reds and browns when held to light) under a small brown head that fades to a ring fast. Mild chocolate aroma with hints of coffee and roast. Sweet chocolate flavor with bigger hints of coffee and roast. A bit simple, perhaps, but still very nice, very tasty, and quite drinkable. Also, a very slick, smooth mouthfeel. Nice!

Pours deep brown with a thick beige head that dissipates leaving almost no lace at all. Aroma is quite roasty with toasted rye bread and nuts. Tastes a bit watered down from when I had it before. Some coffee and roast coming through but way too thin to tell.. Finishes crisp, roasty and dry.

12 ounce bottle from AJ’s in Phoenix. Black with tan ring. Chocolate licorice mild bourbon chocolate chip cookies aroma. Chocolate licorice subdued dark fruity oat tang espresso mild roast with very dry earthy woody bourbon finish. Very good. I hope session beers like this can make a comeback.

Bottle, thanks to markwise for the share. Near black pour with a thin tan head. Roasty dark malt nose with big notes of coffee and chocolate, lighter notes of vanilla and earthy hops. Full body with a creamy mouth feel and good carbonation. Flavor is quite balanced between earthy bitterness, roasted dark malt, sweet chocolate, and coffee. Finishes moderately sweet with lingering coffee.

Bottle shared by Eric. Pours a dark brown color with a medium off-white head. A sweet milky cocoa and woody nose. The flavor is very interesting; dry rich caramel, smoky, light vanilla and bourbon, earthy chocolates and malts.

Bottle. Charcoal black in appearance with an inch of milky cappuccino head. The aroma is mostly charred and smoky roasted malt with some espresso and molasses in there as well. The taste starts with bitter coffee and roasted malt flavors along with dark chocolate, cola and brown sugar. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy with medium carbonation and a dry, roasty finish. There’s a pleasant burnt smokiness to the overall flavor that gives it a nice bite.
