A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

12oz bottle. This brew pours a nice dark brown with a yellowy-white head. The mouthfeel is excellent: creamy on the tongue and nice chocolate and roasted nut flavors.

not my favorite style, but this one has a boat load of big rich roast/coffee flavor and a seriously smooth and creamy moutthfeel that still has nice carbonation. didnt know it was made with bourbon but after reading it it makes sense. the finish has a nice semi sweetness at the end after it warms. this example seems a little more bold than a lot of oatmeal stouts and thatís a good thing in my book. very well done

Bottle pours deep brown/black with a khaki head and leaves behind slight lacing. Aroma is sweet with roasted malt, milk chocolate, coffee, and a slight vanilla/marshmallow thing going on. Flavor shows the same with the oats making themselves known as well as the ever so slight hint of bourbon as it warms. Overall body is moderate to full, soft, and finishes with a nice roasted bitterness. Good stuff.

On tap @ Papago during Bells launch party. Pour is deep brown-black with a turbulent beige head. When I stuck my nose in the glass, the first thing that hit was heavily roasted coffee, followed by bourbon, licorice, coconut, and chocolate. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of oatmeal and wood. Overall body is moderate to full and finishes on a nice earthy hop note. Not a trace of alc to be found. Canít wait to crack my 13th anniv. now.

(12oz bottle). Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and coffee. Taste is semi-sweet with some roasty bitterness. Medium bodied with a thin/creamy texture. Finish is smooth. Iím not getting much bourbon flavor in this, but its still a good, full-flavored sessionable stout.

12 oz. bottle from BevMo (Tucson) - Pours a clear brown color with a one finger thick light tan head that settles to a lasting film. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, wood, hints of coffee, and light herbal hops. Not detecting any bourbon barrel. Flavor is lightly roasted malt, bits of coffee and chocolate, and an ever so light hint of bourbon. Yeah! The bourbon actually lingers a little in the finish. Medium body. A good beer.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2011 Rerate:must have had a bad bottle the first go around. Much better this time around. creamy milk chocolate, nice roasty bite. pretty tasty.

old rate: Bottle! ruby highlights. big frothy tan head. initial aroma is a slightly muddled dark chocolate, molasses, coffee, and hazelnut medley. also some earthy butterscotch. smells like a grandmas house. flavor has more of a roasted, earthy, grainy, butter presence. some faint vanilla. not gettin much bourbon. wanted to love this, as iíve loved some past FW beers and a nice roasty stout under 6% would be right up my alley, but this didnít quite do it for me. maybe i had an off bottle?

Pint at Brouwerís. Darkest brown with thinning greyish head. Body is mild oatmeal, some smokiness and sweet grains. Smooth and full flavored but body is a bit lighter than Iíd hope. Too used to the Imps. this is a tasty, well made stout.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2012 Had this on tap and didnít really care for it. Had it from the bottle and much better. From the bottle ~Rich dark chocolate bready aroma with fresh roasted coffee. ~Pours black with big lasting creamy brown head. ~Both milk and dark chocolate flavors with bready malts and roast. Well balanced. ~Medium bodied with medium CO2, Pleasing roasty finish. ~Great oatmeal stout. Glad I was able to try this from the bottle. On draft at the brewery was way too roasty. On tap at Firestone Walker rating 2.7 ~Strong coffee aroma, roasted, charred, dark chocolate malts. ~Pours black with ruby highlights. Small disappearing head. ~Roasty, charred black malts, coffee, some chocolate, too charred. ~Med full body, med CO2, roasted slightly astringent finish. ~Too much roasted malt on this one, Astringency from roasted grain. Needs to be aged longer in the barrel before serving or use less roasted malt.

Colour:...dark. Nose: Burnt crisp malt, honey infusion - could be the bourbon influence, driftwood, jerk spice. Taste: Cherry cough syrup, burnt wood, late bitter-tart with all spice. Great stuff. A mixed-bag aroma that actually works!
