3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours an inky looking black with a very thin tan head. Aroma is dominant of coffee, some chocolate, and some smokiness. As opposed to the aroma, the chocolate really comes out in the taste. Earthy malts here, along with the smoke flavors. Coffee takes a backseat until the end. Aftertaste is smoky coffee, and is rather short. Light to medium in body, smooth when drinking, and short on carbonation. Not bad here, although I enjoy other efforts by Firestone Walker more.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap, pours a blackish brown color with a thick medium khaki head that leaves good lacing. Smells of chocolate, oats, espresso, and caramel. Tastes of the same things with a slight toasty flavor too. Mouthfeel is silky and creamy with good carbonation. One of the best oatmeal stouts around. Wish it was available year round.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft sample. Almost black in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas are of cocoa powder, milk chocolate, and sweetish pale malts. Flavors are a blend of sweet chocolate, espresso, chalk and bready malts. Medium bodied with a clean finish. A very well executed stout.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep black color with the perfect tan head with a good 1/4 inch, dense head. Aroma has a very fresh chocolate and light coffee nose with a deep roasted presence and some mild crisp yeasty notes. Flavor has a deep roasted malt note balanced by a smooth, chocolate that is not overly sweet. A good earthy hops presences is there to add a little extra bitterness to the roasted coffee bitterness that’s present. Body is prefect! Low carbonation, modest body with a light dryness really gives the perfect stout palate. Overall one of the best stouts on the market and a perfect representation of what’s to expect in the style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Roasted malt aroma. Taste is roasted malt, maybe slight coffee and cocoa. Full flavored and a very enjoyable stout. Not sweet or boozy, just full flavored maltyness with some coffee flavors. Real nice stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
