12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of rich roasted malt, slightly sweet oats, a little bourbon and vanilla - the roasted malt is most pronounced though. Flavour matches accordingly, with the slightly sweet roasted malts and burnt flavours upfront. Not much presence of the bourbon barrel aging, thought there is maybe a subtle oak and vanilla character buried underneath somewhere. Palate is velvety as the name suggests. Very solid oatmeal stout.

Draft. Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. medium to heavy toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet roasted finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good beer.

12oz bottle. Minimal head atop dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, bittersweet chocolate, some smoke, light Bourbon. Taste is medium sweet, bittersweet chocolate, some Bourbon, roast, smoke, caramel. Medium body, light stickiness.

Bottle poured a clear dark brown nearly black with a lingering ring of brown foam. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt and vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla and light roastiness with a smooth chocolate finish.

@Rudolph Throwdown-got in trade with jtclockwork-12oz bottle-pours a dissipating light brown head and black color. Aroma is sweet dark malt/oat-chocolate/roasty. Taste is sweet dark malt/oat-chocolate/roasty, secondary earthy hops. Soft carbonation.

Keg at BD Soho. It pours jet black with a substantial tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, umami, toasted sesame seeds, cacao nibs and some toffee. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, peppery spice, coffee grounds, earth and toasted spice. The finish is very smooth. Medium body, moderate carbonation and creamy mouth - feel. Well rounded and rather flavoursome. A classy stout.

Flavor is heavy malt (cookie, chocolate, coffee, roasted), light hops (spicy, woody), and light esters (fruity) with notes of prunes, dates, wood, alcohol, raisin, and licorice. Full body, medium warmth and retention, low creaminess with a dry and biting finish.
