COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

nice brew, very good oaty stout. not quite as velvety or bourbony as i had hoped, but a nice change f pace from fwís typically hot barrel room selection. overall a great beer, glad that its in 6íers for a nice price.

Pretty much a black pour with some faint brown at the edges of the glass and a small, dense, tan head. The aroma is chocolaty and sort of musty with some leather and tobacco notes. Hints of coffee, vanilla, oak, raisins and rolled oats round out the smell. The flavor follows through pretty much from the aroma with a long, creamy milk chocolate body highlighted by notes of rolled oats, dark fruit, tobacco and some subtle noble hopping on the finish. Great mouth feel with a very velvety and creamy, but drinkable medium body and plentiful but soft carbonation.

Very good oatmeal stout at a great value. Only gripe was the lack of aroma, but pours beautiful with a dark thick head. Flavour its chocolate and caramel with a full body and a smooth finish from the oats. Highly recommended oatmeal stout.

An oatmeal stout? Wow, this is the lightest one Iíve ever had. Itís a good beer, but not what Iím used to for this style. Nice chocolate and smoky aroma. Dark brown with a light reddish hue and a tan head. Creamy body and charred malt with a good sweetness, and then.... Itís gone. It just seems to disappear without much lingering taste or an aftertaste. Maybe thatís where Merlin comes in! Abracadabra, your oatmeal stout is gone! I would have guessed this was a porter rather than a stout, but overall a very nice dark ale.

This beer pours deep dark black with almost not head coconut and chocolate in the aroma. Great flavor and very rich only thing it had a slightly metallic aftertaste. I think the bottle we were drinking was a little older than intended but still a very very good beer. Decadent flavors and very drinkable.

Deep brown pour with darker brown head that settled from a half inch to thin whisps quickly. Nose full of roasty malt, iron or bright cola syrup, vanilla and oak, overall a bit sweet and oaty. Carbonation is lively for the style, full mouthfeel but frothy, slightly warm finish. Taste first of chocolate, strongly brewed coffee, roasty malts and a healthy dose of vanilla. Good stout with great chocolate tones. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. pours deep, dark brown with dark ruby hues. Aroma of cocoa, coffee, a field of hay, touch of smokiness. Flavor is coffee, cocoa, toffee, peat. Has a creamy mouthfeel that gives it a melted mocha shake feel, but far less sweet.

On tap at San Diego Brewing Company. A stout that didnít impress. I heard it was mixed with a golden ale. Wierd. Flavors were weak, but present were chocolate, some smoke. Very watery.
