A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

Pours black with a tan head. Has a toasted malt and a slight bourbon smell to it. In the taste Iím picking up a bit of chocolate, burnt malt and a little bourbon. Pretty light stout and very enjoyable.

Toasted dark chocolate, with a chalky mouthfeel. Very smooth, easy to drink; almost like chocolate milk.

Dark brown with a light brown foam. Disappears quick to a nice ring. Aroma of roasty malt and coffee. Light but it?s there. Taste is roasted malt, some sweet coffee in the middle, with a little hop finish. Clean up front with very clear flavors. Light palate with good carbonation. Very good beer. Easy to drink. Very enjoyable.

Light, airy, but not dilute. Mostly grassy hops on the nose, malt noted but not outstanding. Flavor nuanced, light, creamy, a good balance between malt and hops. As far as the less heavy beers go, this one was extremely refreshing.

Color is a rich deep black. The aroma is of dark chocolate and coffee. The taste starts off with dark chocolate and coffee, its a pleasant taste but not that sweet. The disappointing part is its a very watery taste. It has a clean finish that is not too bitter. Someone said this was like left hand milk stout, but i dont think its nearly that sweet or creamy.

Bottle courtesy of a BA trade. Pours inky black with tan colored head that went away almost immediately. Good legs, okay lacing. Aroma is faint. Iím only getting deep malt with a touch of brown sugar. Taste is much different, still the heavy malt character, interesting oat flavor, faint hop earthiness, brown sugar/caramel. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin. Not nearly as syrupy as I was hoping for from a oatmeal centered stout. Iím surprised this beer becomes so damn tasty in the barrels. Merkin is considerably better. Maybe I shouldnít have aged this one. Who knows?

Deep opaque brown, unimpressive fizzy little head. Impressive cocoa and coffee aromas. The body is a bit too thin for the style, but the flavor is all there. Deep, dark roasted malts with the coffee and chocolate, then followed by a dry huskiness and burnt toffee notes in the finish. Rich, complex and delicious.

On tap at Capone's in Norristown, PA. Had this after a series of IPAs, and it was the perfect change of pace. Full flavor, incredible mouthfeel, and so smooth going down. My first non-IPA FW was one to remember.
