COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

Black with a small head that gave no lacing. Roasted coffee, cocoa, cream nose. Taste is roasted malts with very little bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. Nice brew, not my favorite stout though.

Pours a deep, brown out of the bottle, sitting almost black in the glass. The head is small and tan, leaving streaks of lacing. Aroma is mainly toasted chocolate malt and oatmeal. There are hints of coffee and cocoa powder as well. Taste is more of the same and predominantly chocolate with bitter espresso, with a healthy dose of oatmeal in finish to make it very creamy. The mouth feel is light to medium bodied and feels a tad thin, though it is a low ABV stout. This is a very drinkable. I wish I wouldn’t have threw in my other one as an extra in a trade.

Milky silky chocolate roast. Nice flavorful beer. Smells a little burnt. Nice flavor for the ABV. I was enjoying this one night when I realized how late it was and that I had to go to bed. Left quarter of a glass in my minifridge, what the heck - would lose its carb but still be drinkable. Well it was fine several days later when I went back to it, no carb at all but still good flavor. And now my minifridge smells like it, which is kinda nice.

12 oz bottle from Whole Foods - Pours a rich, dark black with a tan, foamy head. Very smooth. Starts out sweet and has a bitter aftertaste. Bourbon scent is evident. I think I got the tail end of this one, since it is already March, but it is still really good.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into nonic glass. Appearance: pours a thin cream colored head which recedes quickly. Little or no lacing. Very dark reddish brown and opaque. Aroma: pleasant aroma of coffee, caramel, chocolate and earthy hops. Mouthfeel: medium to thick mouthfeel and creamy with dry and fairly bitter finish. Flavor: chocolate and coffee along with caramel dominate the flavor, earthy hops add balance, the oats contribute a creamy aspect. Overall: nicely crafted oatmeal stout. Well done.

01.31.14 bottled. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a goblet on 07.30.14. A: Cocoa, caramel, and licorice. Sweet smelling. A: Thin tan head that recedes super quickly. Midnight black body with some red in the glass. T: Licorice and caramel dominate. Cocoa and raisin are subtle. P: Creamy. Bubbly on the tongue. It has a lot of carbonation. O: This is a very good oatmeal stout. It is very bubbly but I like that in this beer. It goes down super easy.

Bottle into stout glass. Looks like a stout. Not a lot of aroma - some mild notes of dark chocolate. Slightly bitter dry full bodied beer. Not as creamy a mouth feel as I hoped based on the commercial deScription. Chocolate notes. Good solid stout. Will go back to it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

FROM NOTES: June 28, ’12 A: Black with ebony/brown highlights. Had a short creamy head with very nice lace. A bit thin for my tastes for an Oatmeal Stout. A: Smooth roastiness with mild chocolate flavors. T: Has a sweet dark chocolate flavor with some mild toffee flavors. Roasty and bready yet never really coming across as bitter. Sweet finish. P: Medium bodied. O: A nice Oatmeal Stout. While nothing earth shattering here, it’s hard not to be impressed with a beer showing this much flavor with such low alcohol. Pretty impressive really, Firestone Walker is just a ridiculously great brewery!

Bottle from Armin. Thanks! Pour is a fairly dark brown, with a very light brown head that quickly fades to very little lacing. Aroma is light chocolate, lots of light malt, nothing overpowering. Taste is huge oatmeal up front, with some dry coco powder on the back. Fairly dry, if somewhat chalky, finish. Nice beer.
