A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

A nice, dark brown pour into a stout glass offers up a thick, khaki head that starts out fat and quickly ends up small and evenly distributed across the beer. The aroma is light, but of dark roast coffee, almost a contradiction and almost smelling watered down; but the first sip is bursting with that flavor. The balance is good, the bitterness tempered, the brew dry across my tongue and allowing the finish to be somewhat abrupt. This makes for a nice afterward as I never like a beer to stick around for too long after the last draught. The beer is not as silky as I’d expected, the carbonation a little high to allow the creaminess to shine through. A good oatmeal stout, and perfect accompaniment to a fine meal. Not my favorite oatmeal stout, but definitely something I would pick up again and recommend to friends!

Bottle into stout glass. Looks like a stout. Not a lot of aroma - some mild notes of dark chocolate. Slightly bitter dry full bodied beer. Not as creamy a mouth feel as I hoped based on the commercial deScription. Chocolate notes. Good solid stout. Will go back to it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Serving: from tap at Brouwer’s Cafe. Aroma: light wood and chocolate aroma. Appearance: small, creamy, light-brown, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Dark-brown/black body. Taste: heavy, bourbon-like, lightly roasted initial flavor with hints of wood. Lightly acidic and bitter finish with average duration. Palate: medium-to-full body with oily texture and soft carbonation. Overall: didn’t really like it much.

Black with a small head that gave no lacing. Roasted coffee, cocoa, cream nose. Taste is roasted malts with very little bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. Nice brew, not my favorite stout though.

Dark chocolate, roasted barley, earthy hops, and just the slightest hint of toffee make a uniform, well-put-together nose. The mouthfeel is medium, with a creamy body and medium carbonation. The taste is bitter, mostly from the roasted grain but also from the hops, with a suggestion of caramely sweetness toward the end and lingering roasted flavors. Comforting and appeasing, very straightforward; better for prolonged sessions than for easy sipping.

Coffee and dark, bitter chocolate. Very drinkable, light body. Good lacing, my kind of stout-highly attenuated.

On tap at the mayor. Aroma is nutty and roasty. Flavor is the same, with a dry lingering caramel finish.
