3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle courtesy of a BA trade. Pours inky black with tan colored head that went away almost immediately. Good legs, okay lacing. Aroma is faint. I’m only getting deep malt with a touch of brown sugar. Taste is much different, still the heavy malt character, interesting oat flavor, faint hop earthiness, brown sugar/caramel. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin. Not nearly as syrupy as I was hoping for from a oatmeal centered stout. I’m surprised this beer becomes so damn tasty in the barrels. Merkin is considerably better. Maybe I shouldn’t have aged this one. Who knows?

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours dark black with tan head, smells of milky sweetness, coffee and chocolate. Taste is much the same with a touch of bitterness that keeps it in balance, very smooth with a good thick mouthfeel and lively carbonation for a stout but finishes a bit dry with some cocoa lingering on the palate. One of the best oatmeal stouts on the market today

Draft at GABBF: Poured a brown black with tan head. Aroma was sweet with chocolate. Taste was a pleasant mix of cocoa and strong bitter coffee bean, smooth but dry finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle poured. Bottled 12/18/14. Pours black with a big cola fizzy head. Roasted coffee flavor, but semi mild. Chocolate finish. Somewhat a typical stout in my opinion, but all is good nonetheless. Roasted malt aroma from a distance. Thick, creamy body. Not bad.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Just an ok oatmeal stout. Pours a thick black with a grey head. Smells of oatmeal and a bit of vanilla. Taste is standard, nothing to write home about. Creamy, with some vanilla. Tasted at the Black and White Beer Ball for SF Beer Week.

(Tap) Very smooth. The only downside is it tastes pretty flat. Otherwise nice and smooth and nice.
