A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

Bottle courtesy of a BA trade. Pours inky black with tan colored head that went away almost immediately. Good legs, okay lacing. Aroma is faint. I’m only getting deep malt with a touch of brown sugar. Taste is much different, still the heavy malt character, interesting oat flavor, faint hop earthiness, brown sugar/caramel. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin. Not nearly as syrupy as I was hoping for from a oatmeal centered stout. I’m surprised this beer becomes so damn tasty in the barrels. Merkin is considerably better. Maybe I shouldn’t have aged this one. Who knows?

This beer pours deep dark black with almost not head coconut and chocolate in the aroma. Great flavor and very rich only thing it had a slightly metallic aftertaste. I think the bottle we were drinking was a little older than intended but still a very very good beer. Decadent flavors and very drinkable.

On cask at Rattle ’N’ Hum, NYC. Licorice, soy sauce, and mocha aroma with faint nuts and red fruit. Almost opaque garnet-black under a tan island and ring. Sweet mocha flavour with sweet licorice and horehound. Somewhat weak flavour, low bitterness. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth.

pours unclear dark brown, mahogany-purplish tint, with a nice reviving light beige cap, nice lacing. brown malts and nuts, burnt woodsy caramel, velvety oatmeal with its metallic touch, smooth milk chocolate - semi-sweet; some coffee bitterness, bit of earth and smoke. light carbonation, light to medium body - very creamy and fluffy mouthfeel; smooth resinous-woodsy-coffee finish. roasted grains/flakes forward. mineral. very nice palate. not really my genre, but tasty and nicely crafted.

Chocolate and coffee aromas which then flow nicely into the flavors. Just the right amount of hoppy bitterness in the finish.

Pours a dark rich brown with a brown/off white head. Head retention is poor. Aroma of malt, coffee, spice, clove, slight hop bitterness and caramel. Amazing flavors of coffee, caramel, vanilla, smoke, spice, chocolate, cereal, hop bitterness and slight pepper. Leaves a silky buttery feel in the mouth with a slight coffee after taste. This is a must try but it is limited so don’t delay.
