Taster at Holiday Ale Festival. Really balanced combo of dark stout flavor and slight sourness from the gueuze.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Odd beer, interesting. On tap at HAF14. Pours a cloudy brown color with a small white head. A big sour woody fruity nose. The flavor is base chocolate, sour fruity additions that mimic a fruity sweet gueuze. Not really balanced but two flavors. OK.

Dark black in color, thick an head. Lots of aroma and flavor. I loved the bourbon flavors and finish. This was a super beer. Lots of sour and barrel flavors linger.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap @ Holiday Ale Fest 2012... Poured near black with a lacy, gray head. Aroma had hints of salty brine and vinegar. The base beer of Velvet Merkin came through but was definitely tarnished by a butter wood and pickled vegetal tone. Why was this made?
