Bottle at tasting at Beer&Beyond shop. Deep-brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma - roasted malts, coffee, faint woody notes. Taste- moderate sweet, roastiness, caramel, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, light-to-medium bitterness, a bit dry finish. Medium-bodied, smooth texture. Nice porter.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black bodied, creamy tan head. Loads of toffee, cereal, butterscotch, earthy, moderate herbal hop backup. Taste is much richer and certainly very full for the abv. Long malty aftertaste, almost sticky. This brewer makes full use of every percent alcohol, every grain of malt and every layer. The only thing is that it’s a bit too clean perhaps. Very tasty brew, aroma it good but not as excellent as the palate. Glad I took this all the way home. (Bottle from Whip It Austin)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Flanny’s. Nice roasty aroma of burnt barley and plastic, with some odd phenol tones that I cannot place, and a sweet vegetal trace. Pours a deep brown with a thin white head. Very roast forward, with sweet malt, mild coffee, vanilla coffee creamer, slight bark and chocolate, some oatmeal, and the same weird phenol tone from the aroma. Light-to-moderate body; dry finish.

Shared a bomber in md purchased at one of scariest liquor stores I have ever visited- have to admit they had a good craft beer selection. Really solid porter- pours jet black and medium tan head. Has good chocolate/coffee/toffee notes and something right upfront on the nose/palate I can’t place- licorice? Medium mouthfeel- just about right for a porter. Alcohol not overwhelming. Really nice

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, courtesy of jmgreenuk. Pours a dark brown beer with a big, off white head on top. Aroma of ground coffee, caramel, malts and some licorice notes as well. Flavor has the ground coffee returning, light bitterness and a slight bitter finish. Medium carbonation going on. Very nice porter, exceptionally nice considering the low abv. Could session this easily all night.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black with a tan, lasting, lacy, frothy head that settles to a white head. Smells of sweet chocolate, malt, caramel, with light dried fruit and raisins. Medium to full oily frothy body. Tastes of dark sweet chocolate, with soft nice bitter, slightly ashy finish. Leaves the palate a bit bland. A bit thin.
