COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A singularly distinctive beer that represents our finest brewing efforts, Walker’s Reserve is an elegant dark ale featuring robust flavors of espresso, caramel and bittersweet chocolate. This wood-conditioned brew employs five specialty malts along with smooth silky oats for added complexity and flavor. Gentle English Goldings and spicy American Cascade hops together lend a perfect finish to this big, bittersweet ale. Somewhere between porter and stout, this unfiltered and bottle-conditioned beer is produced in small batches for the true connoisseur.

Had on tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown, almost black, with hints of red in there. Aroma is heavy coffee, with hints of chocolate, hops, and more roasted malts. Flavor is complex with a nice creaminess that is well balanced between the roasted malts and subtle hops. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this amazing porter. Finishes well, not too heavy, no big alcohol flavors, just a nice, clean porter.

Nose is nuts, coffee, roasty. Appearance is dark and black. Taste is lightly bitter, light sweetness, and very delicious. Thin feel and lively. Overall a great beer. It tastes like a rich mans beverage. I would recommend for a great time.

(22oz bottle) Black body, large tan head. Medium roast aroma, mild hop character, nutty, chocolate. Medium bodied, some soft carbonation. Flavor is nutty with semisweet chocolate and medium coffee notes; wood and yeast. Mostly sweet, but an underlying hoppiness to it and light bitter finish. Alcohol seems like more than 5.8%. Very smooth and drinkable, but the flavor didn’t quite bowl me over.

Bottle. Ruby pour with a good tan head, good retention/some lace. Aroma of roast, light chocolate, earth, faint hops. Taste is roasty, quite hoppy, watery. Palate is cardboard, bitter finish. Overall decent.

Pours a pitch black with a foamy tan head. Aromas of cocoa, roasted malt, dark fruits, molasses and smoke. First taste is almost chocolate milk-esque, creamy and roasted with a coffee style bite to it. Slightly hoppy but very smooth. Delicious. Mouthfeel is semi oily and a tad hoppy but not too bad. Overall quite a delicious porter. Worth trying.

Purchased at the Lebanon Co-Op. Poured into a snifter right out of the cellar so around 50 Degrees F A - Four finger head, dark brown / tan head. This is a very dark beer but really it’s a dark brown. Show a light through the beer and it goes right through pretty easily. Its a very light looking porter. S - some minor breadiness, hints of vanilla and a really great malt tone. There’s a load of malt in this beer! Chocolate and brown sugar malts. T - more of the same that I got from the smell. TONS of chocolate and brown sugar malts, a few dark fruits but it’s really light compared to belgian pale ales. lots of porter after taste from the yeast. M - GREAT carbonation! One swish and my mouth is full of bubbles. very little liquid. Very heavy beer! O - I LoVE this beer. Wishing it were a bit cheaper. super tasty and very enjoyable.

Bottle courtesy of Andy - thanks bro. Pours dark dark brown or black with dark tan head that falls away quickly and never returns even after swirling. Nose is big and rich with spice, chocolate and dark red fruit. Equally big palate with chocolate, sweet red fruit, sugar and spice. High carbonation which gives it a refreshing quick. Roasted notes in the aftertaste. Awesome.
