2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
An amber ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, a nice nutty caramel malt with light grassy hops, faint herbal odors, OK. In mouth, a nice nutty caramel malt with grassy hops, rye bread, not bad.

2012-06-22. Hazy dark orange body with a nice foamy beige head. 3+ Mild flavour, fruity very light bitterness, muted sweet malt below. Mild aroma, dusty malt, fruity character, muted apple fruit, caramel malt. Average palate. Okay, but odd, the flavour does not quite come together for me. 3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Slightly hazy brown-amber with a good sized just-off-white head that recedes quickly. Aroma is surprisingly complex - leafy hops, bread crust, slightly fermented fruit, a bit of musty book. Nice body, medium-full with a great crispness on the palate. Flavour is interesting - caramel malt, almost-burnt toffee, herbal hops, and tart apple. The latter note makes me think that there might be a mild infection at work, but even if there is, it’s not unpleasant - it actually gives it a nice moreish finish. Not bad!
