2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light amber color. Small head with good carbonation. Copper aroma. Taste is pretty mild. Scotchy finish from the peat-smoked malt. Finish is great, but the sweet caramel is too overpowering.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light copper. Bubbly white head. Fades to thin lacing.
Smoked wood and light malted whiskey after this. There is still some lager like corn and grain but it is defiantly a step up from a cheap pale lager.
Sweet with lots of lager malts and hops along with a smoked wood and peat flavour to it. There is also some whiskey like malts as the writing on the same suggested and wicked alcohol kick to the beer with a sweet bitter finish.
Sweet with a smoked wood texture and a fair amount of alcohol for a drink coming in at under 6% abv. The beer is medium bodied and sticky with a spicy finish.
This one is a drinkable beer and enjoyable although you need to take your time with it and I donít think it is quite as good as I remember from a few weeks ago in Paris.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2011 Bottle. Vanilla and a little whisky aroma. Very sweet toffee and vanilla flavour. Medium body. Quite similar to Innis & Gunn Original but sweeter. I enjoyed this beer and think the weighted average score is a bit harsh.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Dark golden, small and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and caramel sweet aroma, some vanilla and toffee. Body is medium, malty and sweet flavor, caramel and vanilla, some toffee. Finish is average, malty and sweet, caramel and some vanilla. Caramel sweet ale - I really do not get any whisky here (except some vanilla - from cask?).
