Commercial Description:
A slightly roasted malt gives it a light amber color. The rich flavor dominates the malt/hops balance and is very popular among most beer drinkers.

Sweet at first, but starts to get bitter around mid-bottle. By the bottom of the pint, it was very plain. I’d buy again, but it wasn’t spectacular.

(500ml bottle) Purchased at Spinnakers Spirit Merchants. Pours a thin, lasting white head with a clear, highly carbonated golden body. Nose if overly corn and wet grains. Flavour is tonic water mixed with mashed potatoes. Very poor.

I have had this beer on several occassions in 2006. I found it to be an excellent beer with great flavor, refreshing and nice aftertaste. However I did notice an inconsistency in the quality and flavor of the beer in several most recently in 2007. This may explain the lackluster reviews it is receiving at least as far as flavor.

Pours amber w/ a medium semi creamy froth that reduces quickly to a fine canopy. Aroma of crisp caramel malts. Light to medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors of crisp malts and slight caramel. Theres a defined snappy bittering componant. The finish is well bittered w/ a lingering malt residue. Very refreshing. Nothing like the commercial description.

12 oz bottle with crown cap. Mild sweet malt aroma. Flavor also mild and reserved. Some caramel flavor and a little sharpness from the hops. Average, but drinkable. What little flavor there was turned out to be good. Thin but refreshing and not too bad for an amber.

The fruity aroma lead to a lackluster body with a little fruity malt in the body but mostly watery.

THOUGHTS: Pleasant aroma, gut couln’t quite put my finger on what it specifically smelled like. Nothing really stands out about this beer, but I like it. I just don’t know if I would ever try it again. This is further proof to me though, that I would take a French beer over an Italian beer any day or night. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium, sparkling amber with an average, white head that lasted for a while but mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was moderately malty. The Initial flavor was lightly sweet, while the finish was moderately sweet and lightly bitter with a short duration. The body was light to medium, oily and a little dry with fizzy carbonation and a very light metallic finish.

Bad chemical aroma. A light red beer that lacks hops and has very little character at all. Simple malt flavor. Little to enjoy in this beer.
