lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 20, 2009 Pours amber with white head. Smell is a bit skunked. Taste is yeasty, slightly hoppy and malty. Fairly balanced between the components, leaning yeasty. Very slight malt variance from a lager, tastewise. Thin to medium body. Drinkable, decent, but not something I’d look to buy again really. wheelz843 (203), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Jun 11, 2009 bottle. pours a dark yellow with a thin tan head. has a sweet, malty aroma. has a bitter, roasted flavor with a skunky and kind of plain finish. tedovertu (259), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA May 25, 2009 Light amber color with a well balance malt/hops. Rather watery for my liking. Pretty refreshing. mbgrayson (141), Anaconda, Montana, USA May 24, 2009 Pours a deep golden color with a white head. Carmel with some malt. Very drinkable and a good amber. Not excellent, but a thumbs up from me. aguyintx66 (78), Humble, Texas, USA Apr 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours a gold color with a white head. Aroma of malt and corn. Taste is watery with a hint of malt and a corn finish. drjay44 (758), Salida, Colorado, USA Apr 27, 2009 650 ml. bottle. Pours an overly exhuberant head of short duration, with some lacing, over a clear, golden brown(SRM 15) body......nose of light malts, honey, toffee....tastes of light malts, dry with slight bitter finish....mouth feel is light, watery, carbonation rather high. Rather simple, not particularly good. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Apr 17, 2009 Clear amber. Ample head. Pleasing smell of lager, grain and sour notes. Taste is rather thin with a sour finish. Whole bunch of meh. webjedi (249), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA Mar 21, 2009 Had this twice... both in that classic bottle. However, the second pairing ended up being extremely sour. Not much more that hasn’t been said, but I was actually disappointed given my first try, which was a lunch time pairing in NYC with a braised beef dish at Les Halles. Nothing spectacular, light malt sweet, but this bottle was very sour... I guess this is why Belgians, rather than the French are known for their beer prowess.
