ancherrera (161), Cape Coral, Florida, USA Jan 15, 2006 Lagish head with some soapy bubbles. Rather boring with no particular flavor coming to the forefront. A little malt. Boring. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Jan 1, 2006 Had this one bottled. For my first French beer, this one wasn’t too bad. Kind of a thin whitish head, light orange in color and completely clear, this one was far sweeter than most American Ambers I’ve had, with a balanced taste, notes of grapes, canned corn, and hops. Uninspired, but not terrible. obxdude10 (1546), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 31, 2005 Disappointing amber ale, very light in the body, very tart & almost sour flavors, cloudy light amber color, very little head & carbonation, almost no lacing around the glass, unimpressive amber beer
ratman197 (3137), Arvada, Colorado, USA Dec 22, 2005 Bottle poured a clear amber with a large, lasting white head. Aromas of cereal, hops, and a bit of sourness. Palate was light and smooth. Flavors of sweet malt and a hint of hops with a smooth, slightly bitter finish. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA Dec 17, 2005 Pours a bright amber color. Aromas of sweet malts, and a touch of hops. Flavor is pretty much the same as the nose, caramel malts, hops, and a touch of something sour. JohnnyFlake (53), Henderson, Nevada, USA Dec 8, 2005 22 oz Flip Top Bottle - Pours a clear, dark amber, with a huge creamy head which lasted throughout the event. Lacing was very heavy and considerable, all the way down the glass, which suprised me. Aroma of both hops and malt, with nuances of a sweet/sour mash. Flavor is quite dry with heavy nuances of malt and hops with an underlying sweetness. Mouthfeel is light and dry, very low carbonation. Aftertaste is very light, mostly of hops and a bit of that sweet/sour picked up in the aroma. This is actually a very decent, easily drinkable beer. I am amazed at the low rating! Evster64 (106), Kempner, Texas, USA Nov 23, 2005 Updated: Nov 27, 2006Aroma: hops, wood, honey. ... Appearance: Dark Amber, with frothy, long-lasting head. ... Fruity up front, with hint of honey, slightly watery mouthfeel. ... Palate: dry, hoppy, with hint of honey. Overall: A disappointing, mediocre selection. demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Nov 16, 2005 Not very good French beer. A rather bland and uninspired attempt at an Amber. It took me a while just to get the dang thing open. No lacing with a dissipating head and an Ice Tea looking color. Watery yet somewhat malt taste is really blah...France; Their wine is much better than their beer.
