The aroma is of bisquit and beef broth. The flavor matches the aroma along with bonus notes of hearty twelve grain bread. Not quite balanced. A little on the sweet side. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. The finish is medium-length and bitter-sweet.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 28, 2004 Very disappointing. The bitter is quite hoppy with a long finish and a distinctive flavor. This came off very bland and water by comparison. I probably should have started with this and moved on to the bitter but that's the way it worked out. The flavor's more pedestrian, more generic euro-beer. The "Grolsch" bottles look nice but if I had to drink a Fischer, I'd go with the bitter instead of this. 22 oz swing top amber coloured glass.
Actually not a bad looking beer for the style light brown with a nice sized pure white head, attractive carbonation strings.
smell is well average inoffensive but nothing really stands out..least it smells fresh.
Taste while its thirst quenching is very one dimensional..sweet, very sugary..malts..not much hops to speak of.
Its average on the tongue.
Its drinkable yet it would get boring very fast. andytothemax (16), California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 12, 2004 I don't think the aroma was supposed to be like this...skunked out and fruity is the best way I can describe it. Just to be sure I got a second bottle and...it was the same. Looked nice with frothy head, taste was pretty good if a little too sweet, the aftertaste was kind of gross. I was disappointed considering the high price. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/20 | Dec 26, 2003 Bottle at Dusseldorf's restaurant in Ft. Myers, FL. This beer had a small sized white head with fine-small sized bubbles that mostly dissipated. The body was transparent with soft carbonation and a yellow hue. The nose was somewhat skunky, malty and light hops. The flavor was mild malt and hops with a smooth, watery and thin mouthfeel. This was a medium bodied beer with sparse lacing. I was anything but impressed with this beer. It was not an enjoyable beer. thedm (3834), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Dec 20, 2003 TheDM and Hotstuff vacation brew 122. This bottled brew was sampled at Dusseldorf's restaurant in Fort Myers Beach Florida. This brew poured a head with mostly diminishing fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that left behind a head of fine to medium sized white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent orange colored uncarbonated body. The aroma was mildly skunked with mellow malt and hop notes while the mouthfeel was smooth and mildy tingly. It had a mellow malt hop flavor. Gromit (461), Port Orchard, Washington, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Dec 20, 2003 his beer poured a beautiful copper with a nice head. It went downhill from there.
There's a slight aftertaste but I can't quite put my finger on it. It's a rubbery metalic taste. After I noticed it was from France I noticed some wine characteristics that reminded me of a dry white wine. It's not bad, but it's not what I want in a beer.
This is better than most domestic pilsners and the price was cheap (plus a cool flip-top bottle!), but I still wouldn't buy another.
