Trig (4), Howell, Michigan, USA does not count Aug 5, 2003 The only thing that would make this beer better would be to not have the occasional skunk. The bottle looks good, but I have had a few that went bad. A very good tasting beer. tastes light and isn't too sweet or bitter. Has a good punch for such a light taste. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Aug 3, 2003 Dark gold color. Large head. Aroma is grainy and malty with a hint of corn sweetness, A medium bodied amber. Malts are sweet, touch of corn?, nutty and sweet. Hops are barley spicy. Overly sweet and not very hoppy, touch of alcohol, and kind of bland. Fizzy and over carbonated. Can’t decide if it’s a drain pour or not. It’s not that good, but it is worthy of early disposal. It a borderline call. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, with a really bizarre and somewhat unpleasant lingering aftertaste. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 27, 2003 Not much of a nose but nice head, nice colour and easy drink. Kind of bitter, but nothing too memorable other than that. I would never order this one again. drinkbeer (280), Redondo Beach, California, USA Jul 25, 2003 I did not like this beer. Skunked wheat aroma. Terrible to smell. Taste isn't much better with some metallic notes floating around. I would not buy this again. Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2003 Light amber, somewhat over-bubbly but lasting head. Smell is like a BMC can that someone used as an ashtray. Thin, somewhat sweetish palate, with a bit of sourness on the end, hop extracts perhaps? Aftertaste is of stale pepper. I would have sworn I liked this beer at one point in my life. Perhaps I'm remembering the Bitter. Voivod (304), Como, Italy Jul 14, 2003 A really watery beer, even if the ABV is 6%. The only good thing is an hoppy finish, but this is a pretty awful beer. Nice bottle, anyway. loweredsixth (942), Fresno, California, USA Jul 9, 2003 Deep golden color with a massive frothy off-white head. The aroma was at first sour with some barnyard tones...later it was mostly nutty. The flavor contained some nuttines, hay, and caramel. Watery feel...too thin...slimy. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jul 2, 2003 Updated: Jul 13, 2003not a strong aroma, or head. Did not really taste like most amber ales that I have had. Flavor was not bad, nothing too distinct or complex. Just an average ale to site and drink when you have nothing else to do.
