The aroma was at first sour with some barnyard tones...later it was mostly nutty. The flavor contained some nuttines, hay, and caramel. Watery feel...too thin...slimy. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

Did not really taste like most amber ales that I have had. Flavor was not bad, nothing too distinct or complex. Just an average ale to site and drink when you have nothing else to do. haukur (682), Reykjavik, Iceland

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Jun 8, 2003 Updated: Apr 4, 2009No head and a light brown color. The aroma is a little fishy and at first interesting but by the last sip I was thinking how I can drink this without smelling it. A very nasty aroma after a while. Barely any taste and as thin as water. 4/2/3/1/7
Giving this another re-rate, just to make sure. This time its a cool 12oz bottle, got to give them credit for the original shape. Color is a crystal clear brown, almost just like a dirty brown water than anything else. Small quickly dissipating head. Aroma is dirty stinky caramel malt with some dirty floral notes. Taste is a lightly sweet yet cheap and corny caramel. No body to it. 4/2/4/1/6 Ernest (4483), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 28, 2003 Head is initially small, fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light amber. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, cereal, caramel), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a light note of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Errs on the [sugary] sweet side, and the aroma needs help, but it's not dreadful. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | May 27, 2003 Amber color, large white head of coarse bubbles. The aroma was... well, very odd. The bottle I opened smelled like Pepe' Le Pew soaked his feet in it. The flavor was a little better than the smell but to drink it of course it has come near your nose... which was a problem. Most of it went down the drain. Radek Kliber (3942), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 24, 2003 It did look decent. Light amber, nice white head. Faint malt with alcoholic marks. I could feel a bit spice and salt. Oakes (8080), gone rambling, Vietnam
