A slightly roasted malt gives it a light amber color. The rich flavor dominates the malt/hops balance and is very popular among most beer drinkers.

Bottle. Pours a light amber with a decent white head. Aroma of malt and grain. Taste is sweet malt, grain, caramel, and a bit of citrus. Decent hot day beer.

Pours a clear amber color. Aroma and taste of caramel malts. Not much hops here to speak of. Finishes clean.

I rate this higher than it should be, mostly for nostalgia. Weak and underwhelming on later tastings, this was one of the first beers I really enjoyed in college. Deceptively sessionable despite the alcohol content. I probably shouldn’t have ruined my memories by trying this again...

Clear to hazy amber with a soapy off-white head. Scent is sweet malt,grains....musty. Taste is malt, grass, bread, slight bitter. Pretty average....a bit earthy. Nice bottle, though....very pleasant "thunk" when unplugged.

Wasn’t bad. I could taste the alcohol in it which I never like, but it went down pretty easy. Plus, now I have a swing-top bottle for home brew.

Deep gold. Bright white, extremely fine head settles quickly to an incomplete cap leaving minimal lacing. Nose is caramel malt, earthy, leafy hop, and a not insubstantial whiff of sulfur. Some mineral comes through with time. Pretty thin in the mouth. Some malt, but not much caramel.

Deep red in color. Smells of malt and caramel. Tastes just like it smells. Not a bad ale , just nothing super. Caramel stays after the drink goes down ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a very small head. Semi sweet caramel malt aroma and flavor. Decent amber.

Subdued grains and bread in aroma. The flavor is similar to the aroma with a mild pale lager sweetness as well. Not really bad, just not really redeeming in flavor.
