ditmier (1019), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 30, 2008 2008 Bottle - Small white head, light amber colour, flavour is smooth malt, bread and slight bitterness...not too much going on, decent, but I feel that most of the price went to packaging... Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 13, 2008 From a 22 ounce flip top bottle purchased at By The Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Poured a frothy white-headed copper-golden-amber clear body. Metallic nose with hints of mild earthy malts. Thin, but well rounded mouthfeel. Perhaps this beer didn’t travel well, because it is obvious that it is a medium-bodied, easy drinking, well-balanced brew. Thin, sessionable, creamy, nutty, and smooth. Finished with some stale, yet prevalent hop character. I bet on tap at the source it is much better. wxman (582), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Jun 3, 2008 I’ve been drinking Amber off and on for 20 years. What it may lack in exquisite taste and character, it makes up for in consistency. It tastes the same as the first time I tried it. Pours a golden amber color with a thick rocky white head that diminishes eventually, but still provides lacing. The hoppy aroma is bitter and weed-like, yet not unpleasant. The taste is sweet roasted malt along with caramel and a pronounced sour bitterness. Aftertaste is almost like having chewed an aspirin. Having said all that, I still think it’s pretty decent, just odd. Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA May 30, 2008 Bottle. Amber pour with a white head. Aroma is a mild european hop scent with some underlying fruit. Flavor is week, some sweet malt and a mildly bitter finish. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA May 23, 2008 Brown bottle stored in a beer cooler away from light, there is a date code but I can’t decipher it so I’m assuming this should still be within the freshness time frame. I’d like to say this is old and that’s why it stinks, but honestly I believe it’s just a bad beer to begin with. Grassy aroma with a residual sweetness and a hint of toffee. Clear light amber pour, very light with a lasting, thin white head and a layer or two of lacing. Thin and watery with a horrible aftertaste of plastic and cardboard. Flavor is thin with a very faint caramel quality that is soon masked by that nasty aftertaste. This was a rough one to finish. AmazonMatt (284), Panama May 22, 2008 Bottle is the best part of this beer. I never knew a pale lager that could be mostly barnyard, wet saddle in flavor. I guess that it is an ale, but rather light, except for the wet saddle taste. FUNK too much funk, bad funk....don’t like....
Dangle (31), Cullowhee, North Carolina, USA May 8, 2008 Golden color with with head. Nice even taste with a good after taste as well. I gotta say that its not really my favorite but good for what it is. glennmastrange (807), hobe sound, Florida, USA May 6, 2008 Bottle. Light aromas all around, straw and roasted for the malt, herbs and dough for the hops and yeast, with cooked corn and cardboard in the background. Head is fizzy, white, with no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear straw/brown. Flavor is lightly acidic to start, and finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery and has a lively to fizzy carbonation. Not a bad beer, just some off aromas and a bland flavor.
