2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Barreras (368) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - MAR 2, 2009
Nice light copper almost brass in color. Smells and tastes very refreshing with mild bitterness throughout. Faint caramel aftertaste with very soda like carbonation. Overall, very drinkable but lacks anything interesting. Good BBQ drinking beer.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20 Wheatyweiss (29) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2010
Poured from an embossed swing top bomber. Bottle looks cool. Neck label says this is an amber ale although it’s listed here as a lager, I’m slightly concerned.
Pours a deep straw with a loosely formed two finger head that recedes to nothing, quickly. Water clear, save for the color.
Aroma is light malt. Slightly caramel and nutty. Smallish hop aroma that wants to be a strong noble but fails.
Flavor is light malt with a slightly roasted caramel flavor. Slightly nutty with a smallish roast flavor that reminds me of a cheap American macro rip off of an amber. Finishes slightly sweet and with and astringent, with alcohol flavors running rampant. Actually aftertaste is very sweet, like there was sugar added to the mash.
Mouthfeel is thin and watery, but with a carbonation lushness that isn’t bad. Overall, if there was a bit more substance it would be better.
I don’t know about this beer, it is not an amber ale or even close. It is entirely an easy drinking, thin, high, ABV beer with a little flavor. Drinkability suffers greatly because of the ABV and the alcohol prominence. No reason I should taste alcohol this much with a 6%’er.

Pours a nice amber hue. Very carbonated. Had a high citrusy flavor and aroma which is different for an amber.

Little to no aroma, had a certain sweetness yet dull taste that was crisp refreshing then gone. Bought this from a place that thought this was a craft beer!

Pours amber with thick foamy off-white head and lacing. Notes of hay and pine, similar to a lager instead of an ale. Balanced taste is also closer to a lager than an ale. Certainly tastes better than a Heineken.

Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX.
Pours a light, clear amber with off-white fizzy head that seemed to vanish only leaving a white ring. Aroma of fruit with caramel notes. Flavor isn’t much different, has a faint hop bitter. Light-medium body, kinda watery, with high carbonation. Overall, I’d have another, easy drinking, has some taste.

Light amber color with a well balance malt/hops. Rather watery for my liking. Pretty refreshing.
