Commercial Description:
A slightly roasted malt gives it a light amber color. The rich flavor dominates the malt/hops balance and is very popular among most beer drinkers.

As it sets in the glass a crystal clear amber color, the head quite large and frothy, bright white in color and as it desiccates; a fine covering lace is formed. Nose is mostly malt, crisp and clean, the start is somewhat sweet and malt laden, top is skeletal in it feel to the palate. Finish has a mild carbonation, the hops apropos to the style, droughty aftertaste, can’t say this beer does much for me.

Better than alot of domestic amber ales in its price range. I’d say for the price its a goo dbuy, but I’m not a huge fan. Too much bitterness.

Bottle. Pours amber with a tall foamy white head. Nose is sweet malts, light caramel, ripe fruits, flowery hops and light alcohol. Taste is sweet as well with rich malts, flowery hops, lgiht grass, ripe fruits, light caramel, and faint herbal notes. Body is medium and has big carbonation to it. Finishes sort of on the down side. There’s light grassiness, and sweet malts with faint caramel, an odd meaty type taste, and a pleasant hop bitterness.

The color was an orangey gold color, not typical of an amber. The flavor and aroma were malty and slightly sweet.

A decidedly uncomplex Amber ale. Light with some decent malty textures. Would be good on an autumn day. Drinks smooth.

Small head but somewhat frothy which is nice. Slightly sweet and malty aroma. Taste is thin but with some character. Roasted malt with slight hops presence. Finish is clean and slightly sweet. An ok beer in a cool bottle (flip top) which is probably most of its selling point.

Tasted on 3/26/03. Good one inch lasting head. Golden Amber color. Off odors at first, metallic, rust and mild detergent, seem to disappear, then I notice the hop and malt odor. Slightly metallic, hop, and grain flavor. Great carbonation. Good mouth feel but a bit dry. Again, I definitely like the 22 oz. flip-top bottle.
