This is pretty good, better than I expected,
considering that the Fischer La Belle is about the foulest, most disgusting beer in the world.

Amber colored, as one might expect from a beer called "Fischer Amber". Bready, yeasty aroma, with a surprising whiff of alcohol. Very smooth palate. Very sweet tasting - notes of fruit (figs?), with a winey, peppery finish.

Starts with a bitter rather, I dunno, limey taste to it. Kind of like a rusty lime. It reminds me of a Sam Adams but not as fun. I love the thickness of the bottle (which for some psychological reason makes it taste better to me). It’s remarkably pleasant to drink and affordable but...I’d rather have a Heini. Good beer though and definitely not a malt.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2004 I was a little surprised by the low rating. I thought it was at least ok. Orange color with some faint hops, citrus, and alot of apples in there. A little watery and certainly nothing very impressive. But it will do and the bottle is quite interesting.

(bottled). Brilliantly clear dark gold color. Thin malt aroma. I won't describe the flavor as "rich": slightly carmelly or nutty with a thinnish body and virtually no bitterness. Despite the lack of hop balance, the finish is lingering with a sweet malt pleasantness.

good amber color. A foamy head. Good malt flavor, even for an amber. No real hop flavor. It's sub-par, than again what do you expect from wine drinking France.

500mL swingtop bottle poured a light amber color into glass with big white head settling to some fine lacing. Aroma is caramel and citrus. Taste is moderate malty sweetness followed by some citrus and light hoppy bitterness in the finish. Carbonation is adequate and body is medium. A decent beer from France.

malty aroma (hint of yeast?); one inch white head disappears to 1/8; long, balanced finish; a refreshing beer, good on a hot day

Bottle from Whole Foods Vienna. Seems like it was once a decent beer, but this bottle definitely tasted a bit old. Clear amber with a nice carbonation. Light tan head. Dusty aroma with honey and a bit of citrus malt and grapefruit. A little dusty and old smelling. Flavor is sweet with honey and a bit of straw. Slightly nutty. Tastes a bit past its prime.

Deep red in color. Smells of malt and caramel. Tastes just like it smells. Not a bad ale , just nothing super. Caramel stays after the drink goes down
