Good god. What is this? This is not a bitter. It tastes more like an amber lager. Not very bitter, malty finish with a bit of something unsavory to it. I hated this, and cursed the huge bottle it came in.

Faint skunky nose. Good nutty malt flavor
Had this several years ago

Bitter? Not really. Somewhat golden color. Tasted a bit like Grolsch. Don’t think I’ll try another one.

I’m not too sure what the deal was with this not so fine brew, but the alcohol content was only 4.7% and the taste resembled that of a malt liquor. Definitely not my favorite bitter to date, but I got a cool bottle out of the deal.

MWBF 2002: Kinda nasty. Vegetal and funky. Pale gold.

I’m just not a fan of pilsner type beers, and this, being a bitter tasted rather reminiscent of a pilsner to me. I realy try to break out of my style associations (negative or positive) so I rated this on an entirely level playing field: I did not like it. Looked fighteningly bland, smelled unsavory and tasted very plain. Coming from the pacific Northwest I adore hops, but this was not a good beer within those confines either.

Tastes like a pilsner with a more hops. Looks like shitty yellow fizzy beer. I’ve tried it and now I am glad I can move on from it.

Finally, a beer called a Bitter that is actually **bitter**, but amazingly tasteless beyond that. Despite the weak head, this is a nice beer to look at and perhaps there is some food (merguez sausage, moules frites?) with which it would work. But on it’s own, it’s a bit of a disaster.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Drew (2413) - Kent, Ohio, USA - AUG 6, 2002
zip-bang - the head is gone. some lacing though. light golden color. This is hoppy, but not in a good way - that old ’curse of the green bottle’ strikes again. gets better as you get halfway thru the bottle, but irreperably damaged none the less. ’drink it, rate it, don’t look back’

Little malt or hop aroma, flavor is primarily malt contrary to the commercial description. Finish has little bitterness and a lingering malt presence follows.
