pours slightly hazy dark copper, red tint, without a head. burnt cheap caramel, minerals, soil, earthiness, awkward nuttiness and metal. some sweetness - tad too much. soft carbonation, medium body - oily, short grassy finish. hated it - massive DP.

(50 cl bottle) Clear, dark brown colour. Bubbly off-white head. Aroma has loads of caramel and dried fruits (raisins, plums, figs), and a bit of dark chocolate and roasted dark bread. Intense. Very small hints of hops at the end. Taste is medium sweet, with bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture, alcohol burns a bit in the finish. Good, but rather sweet.

Bouteille de 500 ml, avec bouchon de céramique, obtenue via Importations Privées Bièropholie. Le contenu de la bouteille est flat. Arôme: Goût de caramel légèrement brûlé. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée. Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de caramel avec une pointe métalique. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement sirupeuse. Faible effervescence en bouche. Arrière goût légèrement métalique. (Rating #4619)

Bottle: Poured a dark clear brown color bock with a tiny bubbly head with zero retention and no lacing. Aroma of unrefined grain with light burn toffee notes is not very enticing. Taste is also dominated by burn toffee with some acrid unrefined grainy notes. Body is average with low carbonation. There was really nothing in this beer that would make me want to try this again.

bottle from Landbierparadies. Clear brown colour with a golden glow, mid-sized off-white head. Malty, hints of caramel and dried fruit, also honey. Shy hoppy touch in the finish.

50cl swing top pours a hazy caramel brown with some thin, creamy eggshell head. Estery nose, some clove, pumpernickel bread, fresh cream, peppermint candy, birch. Flavor is malty, lightly sour, birch, some bread, yeast, root beer. Sorta creamy sorta watery finish.

Very little head formation above this dark ruby tinged brown pour. Impressively fruity for a lager, this Bock boasts a very grapey, plummy, almost juicy fruit profile. Rather than straightforward toastiness, this bock ventures into very sweet chocolatey, biscuity connotations with not so pleasant touches of cough syrup. Weird balance, it is fairly light on the tongue, which enhances its drinkability, but then, it’s fairly sweet and its strong fruitiness seems to accentuate that profile, so does the very timid bubbliness. Herbal tea-like hoppiness closes the finish in which sweet malt notes linger on. Atypical bock, and not necessarily of a kind that I appreciate particularly.

#522 Dunkelbraun mit rötlichem Schimmer; wenig Schaum. Würzmalziges Aroma. Der Antrunk ist vollmundig und deftig. Geschmacklich ist der Bock eher würzig denn süß. Verhaltene Kakao-/Kaffeenoten im Abgang. Der Alk.Gehalt ist mir zu präsent und drückt auf die Süffigkeit. Für einen lauschigen Abend vorm Kamin aber in Ordnung.
