3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, - APR 9, 2007
(swing top bottle) Clear, chest bnut colour with a fluffy off-white foamy head, leaving some lace-work. Sweet, toast-malty aroma with resiny hops and a touch of barnyard. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, moderate carbonation. Robust malt-accented taste with caramel and a rather strong alcoholic note in the finish. Aromatic but not perfectly balanced Bock.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 motelpogo (5047) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 29, 2012
bottled, brought back from landbierparadies. opaque ochre with a tiny head; aroma of caramel, stewed prune; i guess because it’s fischer i notice some smokiness; mellow with hints of honey rye and lightly tinny bitterness. decent stuff
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Grima (1573) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 8, 2012
Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TBone (9414) - Pori, FINLAND - DEC 23, 2011
Swing top bottled 500ml (BZ, BB 06/2012)
Clear dark nut brown color, good off-white head. Bready, caramelly aroma. Medium-bodied. Quite bitter (and alcoholic) bock, caramel, rye bread. Quite flat mouthfeel. Unconventional bock in its bitterness.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Maria (8581) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUL 18, 2011
It’s dark mahogany-red with a small, creamy head, and the aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, fruit and nuts. The flavour is moderately sweet with notes of roasted malt, burnt caramel, alcohol, fruit, nuts and light licorice, and the finish is dry. A really nice one.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Miksu (4018) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JUN 29, 2011
0.5 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Dark amber color. The aromas of dark bread, raisins, toffee, nuts, warming alcohol and licorice. Rich flavor with nuts, raisins and warming alcohol. Full body. Rich complex bock, lots of different aromas and flavors in harmony.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 crossovert (2781) - Wisconsin, USA - JUN 24, 2011
A nice sweet dunkler bock. Mine was topped of with rauchbier for whatever reason.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 25, 2011
Kaum karamellig. Im Nachgeschmack intensiver malzig werdend, röstig. Kein Spitzenprodukt. Danke an wastl für das Bier! 8/9/9/11/9/9
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Oakes (10191) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 5, 2011
Golden-brown. Some brown molassesy character. Very chewy and toasty with a full blown alcohol and deep sugar finish.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Beershine (4725) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - FEB 11, 2011
Pretty sure this was a rating from a bottle @ Hutt’n. Dark brown, sort of a mahogany. Is very bready but dry. Slightly soapy in the aroma, oddly, but clean nonetheless. Flavors come across as minty or herbal and yet also fresh and bready. That doesn’t really make sense, but there it is.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 FatPhil (6207) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 19, 2010
500ml bottle - at ChrisO’s - thanks!
6 Classic dunkler bock sweet malty aroma
4 Deep red, small head
7 Very full malts, a touch plasticky, but only to the exctent that you expact, and desire, from a dunkelbock.
4 Soft palate, carbonation low, but the bottle had been opened earlier. Finish is classic germal dunkler bock malts.
13 Textbook example of the style. Tasty.
