(bottle) pours a clear yellow colour with a frothy white head. aroma dominated by buttery malts, with light notes of herbal hops. flavour is the same, some light notes of grain, but altogether just a huge diacetyl bomb. medium body and carbonation. drain-pour.

50cl bottle, swing-top. BBE 05/2012. Poured clear golden with a thin head. Aroma is buttery, sweet malty and with some grainy notes. Flavor is very similar, buttery and malty. Low carbonation. Not very enjoyable.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
Ins Glas ergießt sich ein kräftig goldgelbes Bier, welches seine feine Krone schnell verliert. Der Geruch ist erstaunlich malzig karamellig, kommt einem Bockbier oder gewissen tschechischen Bieren sehr nahe. Der Antrunk erfolgt sehr malzbetont, schmeckt wieder sehr tschechisch und ähnlich dem Fischer Bockbier. Der Abgang ist malzbitter, karamellig mit ner guten Portion Toffee. Bei einem Blindtest würde ich hier niemals auf ein Lagerbier tippen, eher auf ein Bockbier oder auf einen guten Tschechen. Absolut grandiose Braukunst!

Flip-top 500ml (BB 02/2012)
Golden color, small white head. Diacetyl is all over the nose plus some woody notes. Medium-bodied. Malty, buttery, diacetylic, woody and harsh. Off-flavors are quite strong.

Bottle (50 cl swing-top) from bierzwerg.de. Clear deep golden, medium white head. Bready malt aroma with some surprising butterscotch notes, and floral hops. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Semi dry with firm bitterness, just a tad metallic. Czech pils character.

Bottled (from Landbierparadies). This one goes out to my uncle Göran, who passed away in cancer earlier today. A lot of nice memories from my childhood rush through my mind this evening. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is bready, caramelly and a bit crystal malty along with some floral and mildly wooden notes as well. Flavour is wooden, bitter grassy and herbal along with some some floral notes as well. Also some sweet maltyness balancing it up. A very pleasantly balanced brew.

My Bottom Line :
Plump honeyed sugars rapidly become oily before toasted cereals and wooden hop bitterness attempt to save this brew from deficient bottling practices.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-Poor head retention soon leaves the clear golden headless.
-That very low carbonation is surely a product of those darned swing-top bottles...
-Hops also contribute peppery notes in the finish.
-The mouthfeel becomes flaccid after a few minutes.

Bottle.

Bottle @ Bamberg. Pours clear golden with a small white head and lacings. Grain, hay, grass and buiscuit. Dry and bitter hoppy flavor. Medium and smooth palate. Quite fine.

It’s warm golden with a creamy, lasting, white head. The aroma is mild with the same notes as the flavour. It’s slightly sweet with notes of bread, light butterscotch, flower, light straw and the finish is dry – it’s a charming beer.

Der Anfang des Bieres ist mild geraten, erst im Mittelteil erwacht das Bier durch eine würzige Note, zusätzlich leicht grasig. Im Vergleich zu anderen Lagerbieren unterscheidet sich dieses durch seine nicht so sehr süffigem dafür intensivere Art, die im Mittelteil durch das malzige Aroma untersützt wird. Im Nachgeschmack herber werdend, aber frisch bleibend. Zuletzt meldet sich der etwas süße Hopfen. Test vom 26.8.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 9,11,10,10,8,10 - 9,95
