Draught at the brewpub in Everett. Pours a slightly hazy dar amber color with a small tan head on it. Nose is decently hoppy, with some grassy and resin elements to it. Taste is fairly bitter, but doesn’t seem all that fresh to me. In fact, it comes off as a bit earthy. Meh.

Bomber from Total Wine in Jensen Beach/Stuart. No bottle date, but a (TWine?) sticker with a 3/29/2014 date on the side. Pours orangey-copper with a white head leaving many streaks of lace. Aroma is strongly hoppy; fruits, pine, berries, citrus & grass, with a significant caramel presence. Some earthiness.Taste brings a lot of muddled fruits, a lot of resin, a solid caramel backbone and something slightly medicinal. Certainly grapefruity bitter with a zest from the rind component, with other fruits, including a touch of sour. Medium to full bodied and quite sticky. FInishes to the bitter side of bittersweet, with length. Quite PNW IPA-ish. The fruits are too muddled which makes a bitter, slightly salty clump. This is enjoyable enough though, just not clean enough to be "very good".

A very strong hop aroma mixed with a bit too much sweetness. Quite strong flavor, pretty hoppy. Solid beer.

One pint plus six. Pours a nice chestnut brown, solid head that all but vanishes save a thin coating on top. Solid lacing as its consumed. Caramel and citrus battle it out in this brew, malts and zest do a solid job of masking the ABV. While you can’t taste it you can definitely feel it. Awesome beer plus the price is right especially for the working man. I will definitely have to keep an eye out for this brewery in the future.

Bottle. Bronzed amber with a short, tan ring of foam. Aroma is earthy and spicy hops with strong fruit notes (citrus and berries) and abundant caramel. Taste is big fruit up front with a more relaxed earthy hoppiness and a more pronounced spicy hoppiness, blended with strong caramel and dark toasted bread. Body is medium-full and slightly chewy with a light carbonation. Mild stickiness to this too. Ends with more caramel, sweet malt, dark bread, orange preserves, soft berries and spicy hops.

Had this beer poured from draft at Taphouse Grill in Seattle. Darker orange with a ton of creamy sticky head. Has a bite to it. Thick palate. Pretty dry. Floral. Meh.

Bottle with a "Reel Ales" label. Reddish-rust color, with a 1/4-inch, mushy head. The aroma is big and viscous, hinting at some varnish-like burn. But this drinks surprisingly easy after that tease, full-bodied to be sure, but the alcohol-burn is fairly well hidden inside a nice, very rich malty brew. (#5082, 6/27/2013)

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a dark amber with a big fluffy ecru head. Slightly sour nose. Big blast of piney resin and grapefruit, moderated by some caramel. Bitter finish.

14 karat pour with some hints of copper and an eggshell crown that left significant lacing inside of the glass. Evergreen, candied citrus, caramel and grapefruit pith. Nice full bodied IIPA. Enjoyed it.

22oz bomber, courtesy of a sweet ass trade with pjdipes, pours with a clear deep copper body supporting a modest tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a brief whiff of citrus before sticky pine sap hops and wet cold fir tree take over amid a smooth smattering of malts. The taste seems a bit barleywine like and I’m liking in that it seems to have robust pine hops that are blunted either by a bit of age or maltiness yet remain thick and vibrant from front to back. Between the big bold, yet somehow smooth, pine hops and a nice fir tree sensation there are snippets of various citrus hop notes sweetened up just a tad by the malts. As I consume my way beyond midway it starts to pick up a spicy cedar wood like sensation along with everything else. I’m liking this one. It blurs the line, for me, between American barleywines and IIPA. It seems like, if memory serves, a little cousin of Founder’s Devil Dancer.
