4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Pours turbid orangy copper with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is fruity, hoppy, piney, with a big caramel malt bill. Tastes bitter and hoppy, resiny and piney, with caramel malt, some peppery notes, and pineapple. Stays bitter and astringent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Bronzed amber with a short, tan ring of foam. Aroma is earthy and spicy hops with strong fruit notes (citrus and berries) and abundant caramel. Taste is big fruit up front with a more relaxed earthy hoppiness and a more pronounced spicy hoppiness, blended with strong caramel and dark toasted bread. Body is medium-full and slightly chewy with a light carbonation. Mild stickiness to this too. Ends with more caramel, sweet malt, dark bread, orange preserves, soft berries and spicy hops.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had this beer poured from draft at Taphouse Grill in Seattle. Darker orange with a ton of creamy sticky head. Has a bite to it. Thick palate. Pretty dry. Floral. Meh.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle with a "Reel Ales" label. Reddish-rust color, with a 1/4-inch, mushy head. The aroma is big and viscous, hinting at some varnish-like burn. But this drinks surprisingly easy after that tease, full-bodied to be sure, but the alcohol-burn is fairly well hidden inside a nice, very rich malty brew. (#5082, 6/27/2013)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a dark amber with a big fluffy ecru head. Slightly sour nose. Big blast of piney resin and grapefruit, moderated by some caramel. Bitter finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
14 karat pour with some hints of copper and an eggshell crown that left significant lacing inside of the glass. Evergreen, candied citrus, caramel and grapefruit pith. Nice full bodied IIPA. Enjoyed it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bomber, courtesy of a sweet ass trade with pjdipes, pours with a clear deep copper body supporting a modest tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a brief whiff of citrus before sticky pine sap hops and wet cold fir tree take over amid a smooth smattering of malts. The taste seems a bit barleywine like and I’m liking in that it seems to have robust pine hops that are blunted either by a bit of age or maltiness yet remain thick and vibrant from front to back. Between the big bold, yet somehow smooth, pine hops and a nice fir tree sensation there are snippets of various citrus hop notes sweetened up just a tad by the malts. As I consume my way beyond midway it starts to pick up a spicy cedar wood like sensation along with everything else. I’m liking this one. It blurs the line, for me, between American barleywines and IIPA. It seems like, if memory serves, a little cousin of Founder’s Devil Dancer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   Burnt orange in color, moderate off-white head, frothy, spotty lacing.   Citrusy, resin, pine, and pith on the nose.   Hmm, on the tongue its not as bitter or biting as I would have thought based on the nose.
Moderate bitterness, lots of pith and citrus peel.   A little alcoholic on the backside, but not too much.   Moderate malt base.   Feels bigger than your normal IPA, but to me not quite in the 2xIPA territory.   At
least its not a simple hop bomb.   Enjoyable, even if not all the way there.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. bottle. Pours hazy dark amber with a somewhat foamy sudsy khaki head that rest to a wispy film and thick collar. Aroma is bitter earthy hops and big caramel malt and some light spice. Taste is sweet earthy bitter resinous hops and sugary caramel malts with a little spice and alcohol. Palate is medium chalky and dry. Not a bad beer, but if this was a tad heavier on the malt profile we would have a barley wine.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours murky dark orange-brown with a short head. Decent retention and lace. Nose is light sweet wih caramel and cereal malt, orange citrus, and plenty of resiny hops. You can sense how big and bitter this beer will taste. Flavor is light sweet and quickly bitters. Full body, thick-creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a very bitter finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a murky orange-gold color with a white head that was barely noticed before it was gone. Very malty nose. Nearly no aromatic hop presence. DIPA?? Mouthfeel is nice with good balance. Very malty flavor. Bittering hops want to appear toward the middle/finish, but some misplaced Belgian yeast spice bullies its way into the palate. Not very good at all.
