Average off white head with decent lacing later on as I swirled it to release aromas of caramel and toffee.
Well balanced flavor. Moderately sweet with a bit of hops to keep it right.
This beer is put together perfectly and one I’ll keep on my wants list in case I should ever be fortunate enough to find a whole bottle. Thanks Jordan for bringing it to the gathering! jerc (3888), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

(3+) Alcoholic slightly malty aroma. Flavour is quite malty with just a bit of a hoppy bite to it. Medium to full bodied. Notes are lacking, as I was busy being blown away. Thanks for bringing this one Jordan, glad to have won this auction! 100 percent different from the latest batch. Wow. DYCSoccer17 (2189), Davis, California, USA

Very vinous and wine-like aroma with sweet malts and bourbon notes in the nose. Hazy amber color with a tan head. Very smooth and slightly vinous flavor with some grapey/wine flavors. Slight alcohol burn to finish. This is nicely done for a barrel-aged beer. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 8, 2005 Batch #4: Pours a murky brown color with an orange glow. The head is minimal, but leaves some attractive lacing. Aroma of caramel, oak, tart grapes and pears. Light notes of brown sugar followed by some dry C hop flavor. The wine notes quickly follow. Dry toasty oak and grape skins that hint at sourness, without actually being sour. Toasted nuts and a dry earthy quality dominate the finish. A unique and delcious experience. zathrus13 (1296), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

Aromas of wine, wood, vanilla, dark fruit, and toffee. Flavors are fruit, wine, wood, malt, and some hops. Body is lighter than expected, and it also not as sweet as expected. I don’t notice the sourness others mention. presario (2956), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 10, 2005 Batch 4. Dark copper. Bottom half of head is a frothy thick blend, top is big bubbles balanced on the froth. Delicious sweet spice and hop aroma. Hints of maple and orange appear at the edge of the scent. The first sip has a thick body but this disapears and the balance is thin. Extra long sour citrus finish. No spice in the flavour. Comes across like an Imperial Flemmish Brown. Very wine-like and sour. Did not work for me.
