i had the first sip out of the bottle and i thought it was going to be black colored yet when i poured it after that it was a very hazy dark amber color.very very sweet aroma, lots of sugar and molasses and brown sugar. very thick sugary brew that could probably use some age to develop those sugars.

Bottle from BevMo, Sacramento. Pours dark brown with a tiny beige head and a treacle and citrus aroma. There is a rather flat nutty chocolate malt flavor with a hoppy bitter finish.

12oz bottle from Wade’s Wines. I think age might have dimmed this one over 7 years. There is almost no aroma at all. The flavor was still nice and carmelly. Also no hint of the 10ABV. Good but time has passed it by.

12 oz bottle trade with pabobcat, thanks David. Poured a decent looking muddy-swamp water brown underneath a smaller beige head. Aroma is heavily oxidized with notes of cardboard, caramel, toffee, and some dry grass clippings. Thinner watery body with soft carbonation. Flavor of cardboard, water, caramel and toffee. This one was way way way past it’s prime but still nice to try an almost eight year old body.

Bomber, shared by Lubiere (merci!) with GRM, served cold in a Scotch-Irish glass. 2006 vintage. 08OC10.
App.: Clear copper with a yellow-tan head.
Aroma: Typical American BW, tons of fruit and pine/resin hops, so much sticky malt, tropical fruits, mangoes, marmalade, caramel, rye bread, treacle/toffee.
Palate: Medium+ body, medium-low effervescence, oily/syrupy.
Flav.: Huge malt, cat food/mashy/savoury with tons of caramel/treacle/toffee, tropical fruits, stinging alcohol, pine rye bread crust, marmalade, pine other the top in basically every aspect; sweet with considerable alcohol and a resinous finish that lacks bitterness.
At 4 years old, this might be a bit passed its prime...hard to say.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 15, 2010
[3030-20100629] Tap. Aroma has the hint of a tobacco pouch and mild fruit. Slightly hazy, amber orange body with a quick foamy white head. Sweet honeyed toast malt flavour has a long sweet aftertaste. Medium-full body. Good, odd sweet characteristics.

Average, but I’ve only seen it once. Got a chewiness to it that I felt suited the beer. Moderately hoppy finish.

One of this IPA-ish looking barley wines. Thick and chewy, hops present and assertive. Pretty decent but very middle of the road.
