COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Medium-bodied and robustly flavorful, Mudshark Porter sports a satisfying dry finish and rich notes of chocolate. Smooth, dark, and bittersweet cocoa flavors linger on the palate from first pint to last. This is a hearty brew born of seven malt varieties, including an especially generous portion of chocolate malt. Then, Mudshark gains hop bitterness in the kettle, including a late addition imparting a gentle zest. The result of all this is a happy salute to your inner chocolate lover. So smooth and creamy, Mudshark ranks among the favorites of a special class of aficionados known for their appreciation of fine beer: the Mighty Fish Brewers. We assert that after a day well-spent exploring the great outdoors, a friendly pint enjoyed with barbeque, sharp cheeses, or-but, of course!-chocolate has the power to help sustain weary souls and rejuvenate tired bodies.

On tap at Baileys. Pours a dark brown color with a medium off-white head. The aroma is big lactose, chocolate and ash. The flavor is more sweet and dark chocolates, some ash, big lactose sugars, a bit of metallic coffee. Very good.

Draught at the brewpub in Everett
Dark brown color, almost black. Round mouthfeel, but the aroma and flavor is a bit on the roasty side for a Porter, although it has some chocolate; ordinary bitterness.
Balanced and flawless.

Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown color. Nose is quite dry, with some nice roasting and coffee elements to it. Taste is slightly bitter and a little burnt to me, with some nice coffee and roasting to it. Good brew.

A clear-looking dark brown beer topped by a small, dark beige head. The aroma has chocolate, some dark dried fruits, prunes mostly, and a touch of citrusy hops. Not much complexity going on, neither in the aroma nor in the flavor. Roasted notes, toffee, hazelnuts, prunes and a little bitterness in the flavor, lasting for some time. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. Some sourish hints as well, malty sour that is. A quite pleasant one but far from the best porters. 140118
