On tap at Three Boars - you gotta check this place out. Ultra dark brown with a small off white head. Mellow porter with subtle coffee and chocolate notes, faint fruit and very nice toast, I like. The taste I’d quite good with some nameless citrus, healthy roast, earthy, quite powerful in mellow ways. Ok carb, blank bitterness and watery here and there. Meh

WTF? Totally disappointed. Pours a good deeeeeeep brown. Aroma of diluted coffee and chocolate. Taste is nutty and light malt (more diluted chocolate). Ungreat porter.

Really smooth porter and Capone’s on Fourth St. in Coeur d Alene currently has it on cask. Not too bitter and not an over powering chocolate or smoke flavor. Nice well rounded porter.

Pours out a nearly black, opaque brown with a thick tan head that leaves frothy lacing rings. A nose of mildly roasted malts, notes of chocolate and light coffee and a bit of a hop. The taste has some coffee notes with the roast and a mildly bittered finish and a overall chewy taste. This is a full bodied, nicely roasted and tasty porter.

Tap at the Steelhead grill.
Dark pour. Somewhat dry, somewhat thin, singularly unimpressive. A pretty major disappointment.

Tap @ Parkway, Dark brown-lack pour with ruby highlights, a short beige head and moderate lace. Nose is roasty and a bit chocolate and peanuts. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation with a touch of slick oiliness near the end. Baking chocolate, dark roast malts, peanut butter, coffee, black cherries and some ethanol. The dry finish is charcoal, peanuts and moderately long. This is a prime example of what I’m looking for in a porter and a sessionable winter ale - my new favorite porter!

Dark opaque black color, small beige head. Coffeish, toasted nose. Light to medium-bodied. Slightly tart, coffeish with coffee beans and vegetables. Short toasted finish. Slightly off?

On tap at the brewpub in Olympia. Generally sweet. Some coffee to it. It was OK, but nothing too exciting.
