COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Cascadian treasure, certified Organic Amber Ale is a medium-bodied beer with an appealing deep amber hue. Our malts--a pleasant blend or organic Pale, Munich, Honey, Crystal and lend a gentle sweet character which is difficult to resist. From organic Hallertauer hops come a zesty flavor and aroma that beautifully balances Organic Amber's malt character.

Wish all beer was organic... This one is a bit too sweet though, a really sweet and malty amber.

A good amber. Pours amber of course with a small head. Malt, bread and caramel in the aroma. The flavor is similar. Just a touch of hops to offset the bitterness.

Rather grainy and sadly has a hint of a cheap beer taste. Easy drinking though.

355ml bottle pours amber in color with a finger of white head that settles quite quickly leaving some sporadic lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and grass with some hints of chocolate and citrus. Taste is caramel and light chocolate malty sweetness with a grassy and citric hop bitterness. Light to medium on body with some decent carbonation. A pretty good amber brew that is easy to drink and satisfies the palate nicely.

Bottle at chow 284. Cloudy deep orange brown. Caramel, sweet malt, brown sugar aroma. Extremely sweet brown sugar, caramel, a mild bite of hoppiness. This is a weird one. , it’s watery, but the sugar makes it palatable. Some almond nuttiness.

Aroma is earthy and mildly sweet malts, mild nuttiness and a hint of hops. The flavor is sweetish malts, an undertone of citrus and and a mildly hoppy and bitter finish.

Aroma is a very faint sweet, floral smell with a tiny bit of citrus. Poured a clear amber with a small white head. Taste is an interesting mix of malty sweetness and I’m getting a slight raisin taste as well which is followed by a bit of hops bitterness. Feels light bodied and kind of watery.

Originally reviewed: 5/21/11. Cool bottle sent down to me from my brother. Never had anything from these guys, so, excited to give ’em a try. 22oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a dark rusty ruby color with a small white head capping it off. Light lace left behind. The nose is not hoppy in any way, which is odd, given the style. Lots of toffee and malt in the aroma. Light fruitiness on the finish. The mouth is moderately full. Ample carbonation. Creamy finish. The flavors are a little tame as well. This is definitely erring on the side of malts, rather than hops. Sweet caramel, toffee, breads. Very faint bitterness. I wish there were a bit more punch to this, but I’m not surprised given its organic background. My experience with most ’organics’ is that they are usually mellow, and lacking in zip. Still, not a bad beer to have on a warm afternoon.
