COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Medium-bodied with an appealing amber hue, this is the First Ale of the Republic. Its organic pale, Munich, and crystal malts create a gentle sweet character that is difficult to resist. From organic Hallertauer hops come a zesty flavor and aroma that beautifully balance Organic Amber’s malt profile. The result: Truly delicious ale that salutes organic farmers and all the goodness they bring to our tables.

Pours a cloudy light amber color with a very small head. Taste starts sweet changing to an odd apricot flavor and finishing with a lingering dry aftertaste.

When it comes to fishtales i'm an automatic fan this one isn't an exception to that very nice dark amber color, small to no head what so ever.Malty sweet aroma with a small spiciness and a definate hop presence, and a slight hint of fruit as well.Malty taste, mild fruit tones with a strong presence of hops that just leap out at you.there is also a slight sweetness to this brew that fades to hops quickly, leaving you with a slight spicey, citrus, hop after taste. This is a fine brew and well worth trying more then once, but worth having around on a regular basis.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2003 Slightly murky amber pour, with medium head. This one looks like it should. Shining copper. Smells of strong hops, tastes of oak and sweet hops with a lightly bitter palate. Light body with soft carbonation. Finish is long and quite sour.

Amber color, large head. Mildly hopped, mild malts, slightly bitter, yet the malts are evident. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

This is one of the first beers I really grew to enjoy in my early drinking days. Pours nicely and goes down smooth. A very admirable taste, and its organic nature ads a bit to the appeal. Definitely a thirst quencher that remains a household favorite.

decent amber ale, although there are better out there, I didn’t find the flavors to be outstanding, but standard ordinary flavors.
