Fish Tale Organic India Pale Ale is a medium-bodied beer with a rich golden color. The organic pale and crystal malts lay down a firm malt body. This provides the backbone for an assertive hop profile featuring organic Pacific Gem. The moment the Mighty Fish Brewers sampled this pungent and resinous New Zealand hop, they knew it would be perfect for their Organic I.P.A. The result: A Cascadian treasure.

Not the best IPA I’ve had, and I’m tired of every other word on the bottle being ’Organic’, as if that was the only good selling point. Otherwise, it had a good hoppy flavor, but nothing special, and no real subtle fruity flavors that I look for in a distinct IPA.

22oz bottle picked up at Yokes
Pours clear golden with a medium sized frothy white head, lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet, caramel, dusty and herbal. Taste is malty, caramel, earthy, grains and resin
It was just OK, wouldn’t buy another one though

A nice hoppy and bitter IPA. Malt heavy and also has notes of pine with a good hop bite.

An average IPA that kind of looks like an Amber Ale with a malty color, but it was very smooth. I had it on tap at California Craft in the Bay Area, CA and I’d probably have it again on tap. Not sure if I would ever get it in the bottle though...

"another aerage IPA from Fish. Not bad at all, but very average. The "new hop" Pacific Gem is fairly indistinguishable, and the malt is too much of the flavor. An underhopped IPA. That said, it was enjoable enough, but not one I’d get again."

UPDATED: SEP 26, 2014 This is a particularly malty IPA, I think to its detriment. Rather smooth, mellow; a little citrus.

NW IPAs, getting difficult to keep track. Nice amber body, soft airy head. Hoppy aroma, citrus/pine taste, but very smooth.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy yellow to orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing involving itself around the glass. The smell had a weird grainy / grassy sort of bitter citrus thing going on. The taste was mainly the same. On the palate, this one sat fairly light and did have a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed alright. Overall, this was a mostly decent AIPA that I probably wouldn’t seek out again.

Draft at Olympia brewpub. Pours clear amber with nice lacing. Caramel, pine; muddled. Toasted thick grain cereal. Some citrus and green apple. Taste: caramel sweetness with bitter finish. Classic IPA. Medium body, average carbonation.

Overall not a terrible IPA. the flavor is a bit weak and so is the aroma, but the pour is a nice color with a nice head.
