COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fish Tale IPA is a medium bodied ale with a bright golden color and robust strength. While Pale, Carastan, and Munich malts lend a gentle sweetness and balance to the background palate, this ale is dedicated to complex hop flavor.

Beer looks nice poured into a glass. Color is dark golden with a big, fully retained off white head. Aroma is good and big and significantly hoppy. Flavor is quite hoppy and hoppy in a way I am not quite familiar with. Must be the Carastan hops. Excellent IMO because of its unique bitterness.

Nice bubblegum hop experience here with a decent sweetness and malt body. Pours a cloudy orange with a light white head. Finish has a touch of bitterness pine. Bottle from total wine.

A very bright and dry hop aroma. Bitter but very drinkable for it. The malt is light and doughnutty close to the finish. This is actually pretty awesome.

12 ounce bottle that poured a light golden orange color with aromas of caramel, citrus, and some grass. Flavor is similar to aromas, was really good with the wood fired pizza I had with it.

Bomber ordered from LetsPour. Pours a slightly hazy caramel orange with a nice cream-colored head. Nose is a fair amount of caramel with some citrusy and mildly grassy hops. Flavor is similar- light in body for a 6.5% IPA, but overall it is very sippable.

A: Pours a dark copper colored body. The head is a one finger tall off white color with average retention and excellent lacing. S: Typical grapefruit aroma and a bit of sweet malt, but also a little grassiness. Not terribly unique, but quite well executed. T: Very mild for an IPA, in fact it’s too mild. There’s a very small ’ping’ of hops on the finish to remind you, yes, this is in IPA, but really, the hoppiness would be weak even for a regular pale ale. Decent malt profile and drinkability, though. M: The finish is overly chalky and has a weird bitterness to it (not really from hops; I can’t put my finger on it), but it features spot on carbonation and body fullness. Like the flavor, it neither offends nor impresses. O: Though this beer is very, very average (apart from the great smell), I do have to give props for the organic aspect of this beer. It won’t make me extra generous with the rating, but it’s good to see breweries realizing how fragile this mortal coil is. Now that I’m done kissing our planet’s ass, I can sum the quality of this beer in one word: ehhh...

This one poured a hazy orange color with an off white head. Aroma was of lighter citrus hops and some malty sweetness. Flavor was a bit sweet, but not overwhelming, with refreshing hop character. Nothing too harsh but refreshing.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2012 12 oz bottle from Sprouts market. Pours a translucent copper color with a medium off white head that recedes to a film. The aroma is understated with pine resins and grapefruit. The taste is biter hops forward with pine, grapefruit, breads, and some caramel. The palate is somewhat thin with lively carbonation. Finished long and bitter. Overall: A solid IPA, but not exceptional.

Copper colored beer with an off-white head. Aromas of floral hops, and some faint fruit. Taste is of mild floral/herbal hops, some earthiness, and hints of grapefruit on the finish. Dry beer, yet quite refreshing. A mild, easy to drink IPA. I like it.

Good, easy to drink IPA. It is a little darker than most reg IPAs, but doesn’t have the sweetness that you would expect. In fact, it is nice and dry. Great, earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel is good and thin as well. I wish there were bottle dates on these, as they are outstanding fresh. I would say to get some any way, though, if you see it.
