thooper41 (201), USA Jul 3, 2008 12oz bottle: pours an amber brown with quick fading off white head, aroma is filled with citrus style hops, flavor is like a mild DFH 90 min IPA, very complex hop flavor. i wasnt expecting much from this beer but its pretty damn good. only change i would make is add a little more malt. gotohelunc (309), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 26, 2008 Bottle. Clear orange color, minimal head. Mild hoppy aroma with some banana. Citrus hops and little else. Not a bad flavor, but pretty watery. Peppery finish. ABUSEDGOAT (1849), California, USA Jun 17, 2008 Wasn’t sure what to expect from this. All organic IPAs/APAs have a very similar and bland hop profile. But on the other hand, I have liked the 2 other offerings I’ve had from the brewer. Amber colored, moderate head, decent lacing and retention. Surprisingly grapefruity nose, notes of citrus and pine, some caramel. Lighter bodied for the style, but not light. Moderate to high bitterness, solid hop flavors. Not great, but better than almost any other organic IPA/APA I can think of. probstk (622), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Jun 9, 2008 12 fl. Oz. bottle, served cold in a wine glass.
App.: Deep golden with a fair light green-yellow head.
Aroma: A fair amount of grapefruit C-hops, apricots, lighter caramel, apple juice.
Palate: Medium body and carbonation.
Flav.: Like the nose – lots of apple juice, some caramel, some grapefruit hops; somewhat off-dry, moderate bitterness with some fruitiness that lingers.
Fairly nice, especially for an “organic”. Nuffield (2530), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jun 4, 2008 Another West Coast IPA. It didn’t vary too greatly from the Fish Tale pale ale...just a bit hoppier of course, but both had plenty of bitterness and a blend of sweet notes through the finish. Bottle.
