COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fish Tale Organic India Pale Ale is a medium-bodied beer with a rich golden color. The organic pale and crystal malts lay down a firm malt body. This provides the backbone for an assertive hop profile featuring organic Pacific Gem. The moment the Mighty Fish Brewers sampled this pungent and resinous New Zealand hop, they knew it would be perfect for their Organic I.P.A. The result: A Cascadian treasure.

Pours a hazy orange with thick white head and decent lacing. Aroma of balanced hops, maybe a slight citrus lean, and not overly balanced with malt. Flavor matches, quite nice. Happy to get this as an extra.

Hazy orange with a small head. Aroma is tropical fruit and floral hops with a malty base. Lingering medium bitter lemon notes that turns sweet right as it clears. Solid pint.

Poured from the 12oz bottle into a shaker glass. Amber color with no real head. Aroma is mild and bready. Flavor has some light breadiness with floral and resinous hops. Medium bodied with a long finish. Not super bitter but nicely balanced.

Aroma - the beer has more in the nose than in the taste and palate. Sweet malt and a mix of small pine and floral hops. Appearance - somewhat hazy sunny peach color, which a 2" white head. The head settles into a layer of foam. Decent lacing, especially at the top of the glass. Taste - is a light bitterness, their is a light sweetness as well. Flavor wise there isn’t an abundance. There is a a crystal malt and some delicate floral qualities. Palate - light body, thin feel, carbonation is approaching flat, there is a only a faint bitterness in the finish. Fairly abrupt.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2015 Drunk side by side with the Hodgson’s IPA bottle from World Beer Market. The psychedelic hippy label on this doesn’t really do it for me but it is a classic IPA copper gold with a solid light beige head of dense foam. The hop bouquet is citrus (lemon, candied grapefruit) & prickly pine that has a very robust malt sweetness supporting it. Similar mouthfeel in both beers with a soft round carbonation though the body is medium to light as opposed to the fuller Hodgson’s body. It’s got a more balanced flavor profile that features more fruitiness and malt than the Hodgson’s and that is a definite plus for me. The finish is a nice little bitter hop kick with a pine & mint bite. I enjoyed this one.

One of the better looking pale ales. Strong hop taste like always yet still smooth to the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to shaker, pours hazy orange gold, One finger frothy white head. Some lacing and retention. Aroma grass and oranges. Taste is on the sweet side, some citrus hop bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation, mouth feel is slick. Finishes lightly bitter. Tasting notes of pine, lemon, grass, hay, caramel. This is more of a pale ale to me, but drinkable.

Bottle. Murky orangey brown. Smells of citrus, rotten banana, acetone, and dark fruit. Taste is dark fruit and citrus.

Rating #1139 - 27.06.2014 - On tap @revolutionyeg. Pours a golden amber - bubbly white head. Grassy malt aromatics - some citrus, some pine, floral. Palate is a little unbalanced - lots of grassy, herbal notes, sharp bitterness that overwhelms.

Mild and earthy, a bit dry with subtle grapefruit and hops. A bit dirty and trashy, though. The finish fades rather quickly. A bit bland for an IPA.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear light copper body with a one finger foamy beige head that had decent retention. The nose is light on the hops, some floral and lightly citrusy notes, with a slightly sweet caramel malt base. The flavor is way too heavy on the malt for my tastes in an IPA. The caramel and husky malt base almost completely obscures what little hoppiness in in here. Lingering husky and grainy finish. Medium bodied and a bit clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. Meh, pretty poor IPA.
