Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a deep reddish brown with a beige head. Sweet dried fruit aroma, very pruney rather than roasty. Fairly rich body, very smooth mouthfeel, some licorice and prune with hardly any bitterness. Pleasant. 071112

Had this on nitro. Solid black. Aroma of roast malt and milky sweetness. Taste is roasty as well, but there is still a little more sweetness than I’d like. Thin nitro texture.

Pungent aroma of licorice and and ash. Brownish-black murkiness. Very heavy bitterness , and the contrast is bittersweet at best. Thin and underwhelming body, might as well be pale ale. Not bad, but stouts should be better.

Bottle:   Surprisingly black, moderate frothy beige head, nice lacing.   Slightly tart roastiness up front, a little oatish.   While I thought this would be a sweet stout, it seems more robust and heaftier, hence I guess the Stout label.   Moderate hop bite, roasty, slightly acrid, but unfortunately not too smooth.   Seems a little rough around the edges.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   A touch dry and ashy as well.   Lingering roastiness, dusty, a little acrid, stale hoppiness, with very soft stale dark chocolate notes.   Interesting beer, but a little rough around the edges.   Wished it were a bit smoother, and a little less acrid.

A: Poured a big, deep brown nearly black with a nice brown cap and some bubbles S: Big milk chocolate, hearty oats and a light whiff of coffee T: Followed the nose very well. Nice rich, smooth chocolate with a subtle oat presence, roasty a tad bitter with some light coffee M: Great body, lots of flavor, well carbonated O: Wow. Fish hit this one out of the park. I hope they are returning to their old ways. This beer was good but the overall drinkability of this beer was great. Well rounded.

Black with a thick tan head. Smell is coffee, raspberries, and cut grass. Flavor is moderately bitter, with rich chocolate and coffee in the finish. The viscosity is a bit lighter than I would like, but overall, this is an excellent stout.
