COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Remarkably bright with a crisp hop finish, Fish Tale Organic Pale Ale is a beautifully balanced jewel of brewing. Its four organic malts impart a mellow sweetness thatís amply matched by Yakima Cascade hops. Pale ale enthusiasts will treasure this ale as much as they love Cascadia, the beautiful land that inspired it!

Poured into a pint glass. Golden and transparent with almost an inch of white head. Looks like a pale ale. Honeysuckle and slight citrus... but very slight. Malty and sweet at first, followed by nice bitterness. However, there is not anything else going on here and the bitterness holds on a bit too long. Light and crisp. Moderate carbonation. Feels right for a pale ale. An average pale ale. "Certified Organic" apparently... but this beer needs some more flavor to bring it up.

On tap at Fish Tale, pours a clear copper orange with a small white head. Aroma is nearly non-existent, with biscuity malt and not much else. Flavour is bland as hell, with light floral hops, a touch of fruitiness and just enough caramel malt backing. Boring but decently brewed.

Draft - Light caramel. Clear gold with a decent white head. Earthy hops and bitterness with a touch of caramel. More English style.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep gold with a high, rocky, lacy white head. Nose is lemon Pledge, strawberry, lavender, and dust. Fruity and tangy on the front of the palate; there is some hops bitterness and acidic notes, and hops bitterness balances it out decently. Low carbonation mars things a bit, as well as a finish that turns bitter and little else. Still, for a completely organic beer, itís pretty decent.

Bottled 10.2013. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip (other glasses were dirty) on 01.27.14. A: Cloudy amber. 1/2 finger head. S: Caramel. T: Biscuit dominates. Caramel back end. M: Smooth. O: This was easy to drink. It tasted more like an amber than an APA, though.

Pours a cloudy dark copper colour. Microhead with a little lace. Taste starts with sweet malt up front then pine and faint citrus, followed by bitterness that coats your tongue. Iíd have it again

Bottle from Wegmans. Pours clear golden with very little head that dissipates quickly to a few bubbles. The aroma has floral notes, a bit of a citrusy note, but nothing defined. The taste is lightly bitter with a toasted malt balance. Meh.

"a little thick and overly malty for the style imho. didnít really care for it. seems to me like this brewer is hit or miss but the couple organics i remember off hand were a slight miss."

A little light on aroma and flavor, and light on hops too. Good hot weather beer, nice mouth feel. Appearance rather dull, finish slightly metallic.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a hazy orange colored body with a one finger white foamy head that rapidly dies within about twenty seconds, clingy lacing circles the glass and takes a while to spider web, though a hazy body, some carbonation is seen rising. The smell had burnt citrus, and a little bit of biscuit. The taste was mainly sweet through the citrus, tries to be bitter but kinda comes through in a bland way, slight citrus aftertaste, slick finish. On the palate, it was light, sessionable. Carbonation is pretty light and smooth, different for the style, but not bad to me. Overall, this is not bad for an APA, but not the greatest APA on the market, would I have this again? Unsure for the most part, but I guess the thing its got goiní for it is that its organic, thatís if you like that sort of thing.
