Named for the majestic creatures which embody the proud spirit of the Republic of Cascadia, Wild Salmon Pale Ale is a light bodied and beautifully balanced Northwest-style pale ale. Its gentle sweetness, drawn from Pale, Carastan, Vienna, Cara-pils, and Honey malts is nicely matched by Chinook hops and late additions of Cascade and Willamette hops. Northwest Pale Ale enthusiasts will love this beer as much as they love the beautiful region which has inspired it. In firm commitment to our love of the Great Northwest, the people at Fish Tale Ales are donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of each case and each keg of Wild Salmon Pale Ale to the Save Our Wild Salmon Coalition, helping to rebuild healthy runs of wild Pacific salmon and steelhead. On draught or by the bottle, this treat from Fish Tale Ales is remarkably bright with a brilliant golden color and thick creamy head. Wild Salmon Pale Ale is sparkling and crisp with a fresh hop aroma and refreshing finish.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a hazy orange colored body with a one finger white foamy head that rapidly dies within about twenty seconds, clingy lacing circles the glass and takes a while to spider web, though a hazy body, some carbonation is seen rising. The smell had burnt citrus, and a little bit of biscuit. The taste was mainly sweet through the citrus, tries to be bitter but kinda comes through in a bland way, slight citrus aftertaste, slick finish. On the palate, it was light, sessionable. Carbonation is pretty light and smooth, different for the style, but not bad to me. Overall, this is not bad for an APA, but not the greatest APA on the market, would I have this again? Unsure for the most part, but I guess the thing its got goin’ for it is that its organic, that’s if you like that sort of thing.

Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a mostly clear light amber color. Nose was pretty light on this one, though I could get a little bit of floral elements to it. Taste was decently bitter with a nice bite. OK.

Bottle courtesy of Pedro. Pours a hazy brownish orange with thin, diminishing beige head and soapy lace. Nose of caramel, bread, citrus. Medium to light body, more citrus flavor than aroma but dominated by the malt.

Hazy orange pour with frothy head. Nice fragrant aroma mainly from the hops. Not much flavor though. A little malt and a little more hops. Dry finish & high carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours bronze gold and hazy, almost caramel in color, with a fat, foamy yellow-white head. Some nice webbed and wet lacing. Aroma is mildy earthy and floral but there is not much to it. Taste is quite subdued, though creamy, with only a touch of caramel malt and some hop bitterness towards the finish. Improves with warming, but just drinkable (and sessionable) and not memorable. Chug - no need to sip! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2013 Bottle. Slightly hazy dirty yellow pour with a small head. Hops taste a bit old. Bit of cardboard over the top of some muted floral and citrus hops. Pretty watery as well.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Slightly cloudy amber brew with off white head. Somewhat weak aroma of citrus and green fruit. Taste is dry and light, the faintest hint of malt at the start with a finish of tart fruit and citrus. What is there is great and this could be a fine refreshing brew on a hot day - but, it is a little tepid and weak.

Serving: Bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a light amber color with a small white head. The nose is rather subdued with a little fruitiness and slight florals. The flavor is a little sweet up front with a hint of peach and florals. Weak flavor wise and flabby on the tongue. Mediocre.
