COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for the majestic creatures which embody the proud spirit of the Republic of Cascadia, Wild Salmon Pale Ale is a light bodied and beautifully balanced Northwest-style pale ale. Its gentle sweetness, drawn from Pale, Carastan, Vienna, Cara-pils, and Honey malts is nicely matched by Chinook hops and late additions of Cascade and Willamette hops. Northwest Pale Ale enthusiasts will love this beer as much as they love the beautiful region which has inspired it. In firm commitment to our love of the Great Northwest, the people at Fish Tale Ales are donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of each case and each keg of Wild Salmon Pale Ale to the Save Our Wild Salmon Coalition, helping to rebuild healthy runs of wild Pacific salmon and steelhead. On draught or by the bottle, this treat from Fish Tale Ales is remarkably bright with a brilliant golden color and thick creamy head. Wild Salmon Pale Ale is sparkling and crisp with a fresh hop aroma and refreshing finish.

Bottle from Zekes in Miami. Good little pale ale here. A gold/apricot colored pour wtih a white head. Good dose of malt and hops on the nose...some nice citrus notes. Flavor has the same citrus and light caramel flavors. Not bad at all.

4/20/12. 12oz bottle. Mostly clear golden pour, but with tiny suspended particulates, under a small khaki head that fades and laces just a tiny bit. Weird soapy aroma, both chalky and floral, with old caramel. Thin flavor with touches of bread and caramel and again that weird, chalky, soapiness. Very thin body. Not good.

An above average APA. Pours out a bright golden straw in the body with a thick finger of dense yellow head and thick lacing rings. The nose has a sweet resinous hop aroma with definite grapefruit and not much else besides light grainy and caramel malts. The taste is slightly hopped and grainy with an overall cereal taste and light grapefruit finish. Overall, not much going on here.

Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy deep gold with fizzy white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and some fruity esters. Flavor is much the same with a faint hint of smoke and a pleasant subtle honey-like notes. Light-medium body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, tasty little easy drinker.

Same really as the Flying Dog Old Scratch. It has a more hoppy flavor than the Old scratch, so Julie likes it less but it’s not the greatest anyway...

Bottle. Aroma has notes of spicy herbs, black pepper and citrus along with caramel malts. Medium amber hue with an off-white small foamy head that mostly diminished and left little lace. Flavor is medium sweet and medium/heavy bitterness. Palate is medium bodied and oily soft. Overall a nice spicy Pale Ale. Enjoyable.

zestytaco (34) - Niceville, Florida, USA - DEC 9, 2011
Pours a pale gold color with a small head. Smell consists of strong hops with floral undertones. The taste is pretty normal for a pale ale with the hops taking center stage. There’s not a whole lot to say about this ale accept that it is smooth, easy to drink and not the most complex brew around.

Bottle shared thanks to Dmac. Pours out a moderate copper with little to no head. Aroma is of light citrus hops, grass and some lemon. Taste is light hops, some citrusy lemon, honey and sweet malts. Palate is a bit watery.

12 oz bottle via trade. Poured an unimpressive hazy center light brown with clear outter edges underneath a small and quick fading white foamy head. Aroma of old stale hops, bad bread, rotting lemons and a hint of peach. Thinner bodied with avergae carbonation and a watery finish. Flavor is watered down compared to the aroma, notes of fruit, peach, nectarine, seltzer and grain. Meh.

(12oz bottle thanks to blutt59) clear medium gold-orange with fine white bubbles and decent lacing. Nose of sourdough bread, sweet, rice, bread, and a very mild touch of orange and grapefruit. Taste of old hops, oxidized, papery, oranges and grapefruit.
