argo0 (6176), Washington DC, USA Jan 11, 2003 Medium off-white head, with lots of particles distributed throughout the orange body. Nice lacing rings left as the beer is consumed. Aroma is both grapefruit and floral hoppy. Flavor is pleasant piney hops, some grapefruit, and rounded off well by decent malts. Fairly dry finish. Bitterness lingers nicely. CaptainCougar (4637), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 3, 2003 Pours a clear copper with a puffy white head. Very fresh hoppy aroma with caramel malty grapefruit undertones. Almost smells like gasoline. Body is lightly swet and mellow with plenty of hops everywhere you look. Dry sticky finish. A good English strong ale. hopdog (4564), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 24, 2004 Poured a medium, hazy amber color with a large (4.5 finger) off white head. Hoppy/grapefruit aroma with light caramel malts. Grapefruit also comes through strong in the taste. Light malty sweet balance. This was not what I was expecting from a Winter Beer (but I’m not complaining). Body is a little thin.
