Clear dark amber color with ivory head. Nutty, caramel, dark bread aromas. Medium body. Nutty, dry caramel, cardboard flavors____sub par even for this weak style.

Amber in color clear with a thin head. Nice balance malt and lingering hops. This is a easy drinking amber beer. Good beer.

Bottle. Clear reddish Copper pour with a finger of head. Caramel, grass, herb, spice. Light carbonation and body. Light and almost artificial Caramel, vanilla and chocolate throughout the body with very light and slightly bitter sweet finish. A bit more body and flavor would be better

penstemon (127) - - MAY 30, 2014
Pours coppery amber with an off-white head. Aromas of grain, toast, lemony citrus, floral, and a hint of berries. Taste is slightly toasted grain, light lemon citrusy hops, floral, peppery, slight caramel, and light bitterness. Fairly thin mouthfeel, weak carbonation. Overall pretty boring. I like Fish’s organic amber better than this one.

Copper colored beer with a slightly off-white head. Weak aromas of caramel. Tastes of corn mash, some toasted barley, and weak caramel notes. One dimensional flavor. Bittersweet finish. Easy to drink but is forgettable.

pours a semi-clear dark amber with a small light tan head, and good lacing. smell is of sweet butter toffee, touch of citrus, and malt. taste is of malt, caramel, slightly tangy, leaves, earth, a touch of citrus, and hops in the back. ends slightly bitter. more like an ESB than an amber.

Bottle: Poured an amber brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is sweet leafy malt. Taste is a sweet toffee, malt, and yet a leafy tree bark grit.

maxwelldeux (3505) - Everett, Washington, USA - FEB 9, 2014
Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a moderately clear amber color. Nose is pretty light, with some very faint maltiness to it that I couldn’t quite place. Taste was a little bit like sourdough bread, with some slight toasting. Meh.

It pours a semi-dark red/brown color and leaves the same colored body with a two finger white foamy head that slowly settles to leave a decent amount of adequate foamy lacing, tries to spider web but has a gentle looking cohesiveness in the display of it. The smell comes across pretty bad in my opinion as its a wretched bland unappealing onion dankness. There are no hops or malts making any presence no matter how many times I smelled this. The taste well, it tries to come back from the bad smell as I did get some dried and somewhat roasty malts, but the aftertaste brings back that dank unappealing onion-ness, and has a dry onion finish. On the palate, its about a light to medium, but not really sessionable, carbonation was actually really smooth. Overall, I think this went bad because I did see the bottling date was "notched" in October. I only would have this again if it were fresher.

Fatehunter (1179) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JAN 13, 2014
Pours two fingers of head on a hazy medium straw colored body. The aroma is tropical fruit forward (mango and pineapple) with some pine and grapefruit in the background. The taste is nicely balanced. Some pineapple sweetness, a bite of lemon bitterness in the middle and finishes on a little honey sweet note. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. It has great balance in both smell and flavor.
