2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Nuffield (3090) - Roseville, USA - OCT 31, 2011
I have to follow the other comments on this beer (and my notes from the day reflect the same) that not only did the brewers not set out to make an exciting beer, they accomplished the opposite: making a bland style appear particularly insipid. Light chestnut color, fine flavor but nothing to write home about. Dull and really dull at times. (on tap at brewpub)

Tap at Fitger’s on Nov. 17, 2011. Clear amber pour with a nice laced white head. Mild aroma and taste of nut and caramel. A bit watery.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 northropfrye (848) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 13, 2011
On tap at Fitgers. Dark brown colour. Nutty and a little sweet. Not a strong aroma.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 troyc (2014) - Oklahoma, USA - NOV 5, 2009
[Tap] Part of the brewpub sampler back in August. Poured a dark brown color without much head. Light caramel malts in the aroma. Biscuits, toffee and hazelnut in the taste. Low carbonation and rather light mouthfeel. I agree that this beer wasn’t very memorable, but I didn’t find any glaring flaws.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 auerbrau (2668) - Peace Dale, Rhode Island, USA - JUL 28, 2009
On cask at the brewpub. Little to no aroma. Pours a pale coppery brown, with a white fringe. Flavor is a watery wash of caramels. Some faint alcohols. Extremely generic and unexciting. Seltzer. Good mineral profile. Drinkable. Kind of boring. A boring example of a boring style makes for a really lame experience.
