Gold color and lots of foam. Citrus and grapefruit aroma. Bitter and crisp, with lots of hops. This is one of the most heavily hopped APAs I have ever had.

Mystery Growler at during Cellar’s Wine & Spirits Wednesday evening beer tasting. Pours a semi-hazy golden amber brew with an average off-white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and off-white ring. Aroma of some mild Cascade-type hops, some grapefruit, multi-grain malt and a touch of honey. Taste is semi-sweet with a good balance of citrus zest, grassy hops, some mild multi-grain and golden malt with a touch of tropical fruits. Finish has a good balance of semi-sweet malt and a mild bitterness.

[growler] Shared by skyview. Poured a hazy copper, darker than usual for this style, with a quickly disappearing off white head. Aroma was grassy hops, and citrus fruits (mostly lemon). Flavor was like someone had squirted lemon juice in the beer. Somewhat bitter. Overall pretty refreshing.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 badgerben (4116) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - APR 10, 2008
Growler courtesy of Skyview. Copper color with a thin head. Citrusy aroma. Very dusty, dry and bitter taste. Slightly grainy and a very, very small bit of piney hops.

Poured from a growler. Earthy orange appearance; milky skin with gorgeous rafts of bubbles. Grapefruit zest, grass, biscuits, honey and orange in an aroma of pristine balance and fairly simple character. Flavor is softly fruity, giving hints of cantaloupe and mandarin, before drying with lemon seeds, florals, and white bread crust. Crisp in the mouth, light to medium bodied, effervescent, soft. Finishes very bitter with a wink of grassy sweetness; cool, pleasant, alluring. The quality is unmistakeable in this well integrated, easy, and forward example. Thanks for sharing, Bob!

On tap at the brewpub. Heavy orange Cascade aroma. Crisp and sweet. Light phenolic wisps. Pours a mid-orange with amber hue. Thin white head, ebbing lacy. Flavor is a rich, toothsome sweetness, with a unique grain sugar character and a wheaty, oil texture. A lot of breadth in this flavor, especially in the hops. Great feel and texture for an APA. Lots of smoothness and drinkability, yet persistent body and flavor. Citrus mels with lemon. I can reach out and get a West Coast, bittering with planty pine and then a real floral, citrus aroma and flavor, then a crisp lemon and grass smack, covering the bases of hop variety in the best places they are used. Unassuming and possibly an APA masterpiece. Attenuated to the point of lacking any cloyingness. Bready yeast esters light up the background and add another level of depth.
