Pour was copper with a a nice aroma of sweet malt and semi tart cherries. Flavor was well blended and smooth with light chocolate, wood, toasty malt, toffee, and sweet and tart cherries. Very complex brew, and I would like to try this one again.

Old rating from FOBAB 2008. Red/amber pour with no head. Sour cherry aroma with some wine influence and malt. Fruity and sour cherry flavor that with a touch of bready malt in the finish. Aftertaste is a bit unpleasant; very similar to wet newsprint.

sampled at FOBAB 2008.... pours a clear light cherry red pour with a barely noticeable head... light cherry and sweet malt aroma... sweet malt and light cherry flavor almost too malty for my tastes. thin mouthfeel with soft carbonation. perhaps this needed time to develop as my sample came from november of 08.

On draught during Winterfest 2009 in St Paul, MN. Pours a semi-hazy burnt amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a film top. Aroma of tart cherries, some banana esters, a touch of Pinot Noir, cotton candy and a touch of sugar. Taste is medium to full bodied, flavors quite close to a chocolate covered cherries with a touch of vanilla, banana and dark grape. Finish continues a semi-tart cherry aftertaste that is quite smooth with some alcohol warmth. Quite an eventful cherry grand cru that was four years in the making.
