3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose is impressive - dark chocolate covered raspberries. Pours out dark brown with a touch of mocha foam. Taste is raspberry forward, a fair amount of heat, some chocolate, not a lot of barrel flavor. There’s something a touch off/unusual in the finish. It’s tasty. More raspberry than bramble rye or lindly park. I’m happy I had the chance to try it.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle...This beer rocks!… Black as tar with a small, creamy, cappuccino head. Good retention. The aroma is of brownies slathered with raspberry jam. Medium to full-bodied with laid-back carbonation. The flavor is a fusion of sour cherries, raspberries, charcoal and chocolate. Finishes tart with a light pinch of cocoa powder. Thanks to ctipping for sharing this bottle of world class beer!

Bottle shared @ Armin’s - really nice. Dark pour with a tan head. Massive raspberry and chocolate nose - fantastic. Excellent taste and mouthfeel. Dry finish with tons of chocolate bitterness. I had this about two years ago and did not like it as much.

Bottle @ Armin’s house, courtesy of arminjewell and CLevar. Thanks! Pours a black appearance with a light brown head. Dark chocolate, raspberry truffle, tart cherry, roasty aroma. Quite roasty, rich dark chocolate, slight leathery/tannic, dark grape, black cherry, raspberry flavor. Quite good.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Black with small white head. Big raspberry nose with some chocolate malt. Taste is heavy on tart raspberry. Just too much fruit for me.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
[Bottle] Pours brown with a light brown head. Aroma is huge on barrel, with some chocolate, and coconut. It’s okay, but there is also a blast of alcohol which hurts it. The taste is likewise overpowered with alcohol. Lots of barrel again as well, with underlying fruit and faint tartness. Not very good. Medium-thin mouthfeel with a long finish. Overall, this was definitely a disappointment.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I have to go against the grain on this one. I did not think this was a good beer. The aroma was medicinal berry and reminded me of Leinenkugel’s Berry Weiss. Some real raspberry flavor, and roasted malt. It needs some adjustment. #85.

Bottle shared on Huny day. Very interesting nose with coconut and raspberry aromas. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Wow, this is wacky and very good. The body is a little thin, with raspberry, coconut, and dark roasted malts and undercurrents of Woodford’s and oak...
